Senior Automation Engineer

We're looking for a talented Senior Automation Engineer to join Procore's Product & Technology organization. In this role, you will drive the design, development, and evolution of automated testing solutions that ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of both customer-facing and internal applications. You will partner closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, DevOps Engineers, and fellow Quality Engineers to embed automation throughout the software development lifecycle. We're looking for an engineer who is passionate about building robust automation frameworks, improving developer productivity, and leveraging AI-powered tools to accelerate software quality. This role reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is based in Cairo, Egypt.What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop reliable, maithe number of ntainable, and reusable automated test suites that support continuous delivery.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and improve release quality.
• Define automation strategies and establish best practices for test architecture, code quality, and framework design.
• Review product requirements, technical designs, and implementation plans to identify quality risks and improve testability.
• Perform API, integration, regression, end-to-end, and exploratory testing when needed to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Investigate test failures, analyze defects, identify root causes, and partner with engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Improve test execution speed, stability, and reliability by optimizing automation frameworks and reducing flaky tests.
• Drive quality metrics, automation coverage, and continuous improvement initiatives across engineering teams.
• Leverage AI-powered tools and coding assistants to accelerate test automation development, test generation, debugging, defect analysis, and engineering productivity.
• Contribute to the adoption of AI-assisted quality engineering practices and help establish best practices across the organization.
• Mentor other Quality Engineers on automation best practices, framework design, coding standards, and modern testing techniques.
• Stay current with emerging automation technologies, AI capabilities, and industry best practices to continuously improve Procore's quality engineering practices to improve Procore's quality engineering practices continuously
  What we're looking for
   
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering with a strong focus on test automation.
• Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Python.
• Hands-on experience designing and building automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar.
• Experience automating REST APIs using tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, Playwright API, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into modern deployment workflows.
• Strong SQL skills and experience validating data across distributed systems.
• Experience testing cloud-native applications, distributed systems, or microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and modern software development practices.
• Experience with performance, reliability, or security testing is a plus.
• Experience using AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar to improve engineering and automation workflows.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
