Technical Support Engineer Intern for People with Disabilities (Ignite Program)

The Ignite Program is a 12-month developmental internship that provides participants with hands-on experience in a corporate environment while receiving mentorship and guidance from experienced Microsoft professionals. The program aims to foster inclusion and empower individuals with disabilities to develop technical and professional skills, gain exposure to Microsoft technologies, and build a strong foundation for future career opportunities. Participants will contribute to real-world projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and gain practical experience in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Program Track: Technical Support Engineering: Ignite Interns will work alongside experienced professionals to support customers, learn troubleshooting methodologies, and develop technical expertise across Microsoft technologies. Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. • Learn and apply technical troubleshooting skills to support Microsoft products and services.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues under the guidance of experienced engineers.

• Systems Administration: Develop an understanding of system administration fundamentals, including daily operations, maintenance, and support activities.
• Operating Systems: Learn how operating systems and servers are installed, managed, updated, and monitored.
• Identity and Authentication Services: Explore identity management solutions, authentication methods, multi-factor authentication, and cloud-based identity services.
• Networking Fundamentals: Build knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, IP addressing, routing, VLANs, and the OSI model.
• Virtualization Technologies: Gain exposure to virtualization platforms including Hyper-V, VMware, and Azure Virtual Machines.
• Cloud Administration: Learn the fundamentals of cloud administration, Azure services, hybrid cloud environments, and cloud storage solutions.
• Security and Monitoring: Develop an understanding of cybersecurity principles, email security, cloud security, monitoring tools, and threat mitigation practices.

• Strong interest in technology, technical support, cloud computing, or information technology.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and work in a team-oriented environment.
• Relevant coursework, academic projects, certifications, or previous internship experience in a technology-related field are considered a plus.
