Wood is recruiting for a Mechanical Technician / OTJ Trainer to join our team in Equatorial Guinea.
Required to perform diagnostics as well as overhauls to major equipment such as gas / diesel reciprocating engines, air / gas compressors, horizontal / vertical pumps and various types of valves within an oil and gas environment.
This position is a mentoring role and we require candidates with very good communications skills to transmit their knowledge and skills to National EG personnel while working on the job.
Location: Equatorial Guinea
Rotation \ Work Pattern: Rotational position - 4 weeks on \ 4 weeks off, 7-day week \ 12-hour day

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee troubleshooting, repairs, rebuilds and overhauls of gas and diesel engines, air and gas compressors, and reciprocating and centrifugal pumps
- Oversee mechanical repairs in accordance with Company policies, regulations and specified schedules.
- Provide classroom training as well as onsite training.
- Oversee planned and unplanned maintenance is executed in a cost-effective manner while maintaining and improving equipment reliability and availability.
- Oversee control and use of spare parts, consumables and other materials necessary for onshore operations.
- Oversee adequate information is provided on work orders and close out of documentations is completed.
- Participates in HES activities including tool box meetings and must be quality conscious and aware of safety procedures on offshore platforms.
- Ensures company and contract environmental standards are achieved.
- Oversee planned maintenance on mechanical equipment in a timely manner.
- Complies with all Safety Rules and Regulations by following in-place procedures and SPMs.
- Supports all Company processes by personal involvement in activities to enhance performance in Health, Environment, Safety and Corporate Social Responsibility.
- Serves as an active member in one or more of the Emergency Response Teams, e.g., Fire Brigade, etc.

- Several years previous experience working in a similar “On the Job" Trainer position in the oil & gas industry
- Experience of troubleshooting, repairs, rebuilds and overhauls of gas and diesel engines, air and gas compressors, and reciprocating and centrifugal pumps
- Competent in carrying out mechanical repairs in accordance with Company policies, regulations and specified schedules.
- Experience of providing training in a formal or classroom environment
PC Application Skills:
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft office suite
- Familiar with SAP for maintenance notifications and work order management.
Personal Attributes:
- Excellent in communicating in English language.
- Good inter-personal and communication skills.
- Spanish language skills advantageous
