Data Engineer - Teradata, Power BI

Key Responsibilities
    Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
    Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures in Teradata.
    Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from Teradata and other data sources into Power BI datasets.
    Create efficient data models using star and snowflake schema concepts.
    Develop reusable datasets, dataflows, and semantic models in Power BI.
    Optimize Power BI report performance through DAX tuning, query optimization, and effective data modeling.
    Collaborate with business users to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
    Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and ensure adherence to data governance and security standards.
    Perform report testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
    Document technical designs, data models, and deployment processes.
    Work in Agile/Scrum teams and participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Required Skills
    6–9 years of IT experience with strong expertise in Power BI development.
    Hands-on experience with Teradata SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning.
    Strong knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Gateway.
    Expertise in DAX, Power Query (M Language), calculated columns, and measures.
    Experience in data modeling, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
    Proficiency in SQL and database design principles.
    Experience with data integration and ETL processes.
    Understanding of Power BI deployment pipelines, workspaces, and security.
    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
