1The Electrical Engineer is part of the Projects / Facilities Design Engineering organization within Chevron’s ENGINE Center. This role provides electrical engineering and project execution support across DM&C-supported assets, including onshore facilities and infrastructure (brownfield and greenfield) as well as complex process facilities (e.g., refining, pipeline, and chemicals).
The role is responsible for developing and delivering electrical engineering solutions for small capital and expense projects, while also providing remote technical support for operations, routine maintenance, turnaround scope development/execution, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Execution & Engineering Delivery

• Execute Electrical scope for various capital and expense projects, providing engineering analysis, consultation, and project delivery support.

  
  

• Develop and deliver Electrical construction work packages that meet Chevron specifications, industry codes, and site requirements.

  
  

• Manage multiple projects and support deliverables concurrently, balancing priorities across projects and operations support.

  
  

Electrical Design & Technical Scope

• Apply Chevron and applicable industry engineering standards and Safety in Design principles.

  
  

• Review and validate Electrical deliverables produced by Engineering Partners, ensuring compliance with Chevron standards, DM&C - (DOWNSTREAM, MIDSTREAM & CHEMICALS) requirements, and applicable codes, including but not limited to:

  
  

• Electrical load studies / load analysis (i.e. Short Circuit, Arc Flash, and Electrical System modeling studies (ETAP)) , Electrical one-line diagrams, Hazardous Area Classification, Electrical equipment sizing and specifications, Electrical equipment inspection and test plans, Cable and cable support specifications, Provide technical resolutions for RFIs, TQs, and field changes related to Electrical scope, maintaining alignment with approved designs and standards

  
  

• Support the design and analysis of:  Electrical power medium and low voltage distribution systems, Power Management/Monitoring Systems , Lighting and Receptacles including Lighting Panel and Power Panel Design Grounding designs,  Trip Coordination Charts, Motor torque, current and speed curves , Constructability evaluations and integration with existing brownfield systems, Operations & Remote Technical Support , Provide active remote Electrical support to Operations, Maintenance, and technical teams to: Troubleshoot electrical issues , Scope repairs, modifications, and improvements

  
  

• Develop practical engineering solutions for operating facilities considering safety, reliability, and operational impact

  
  

• Support implementation of solutions through routine maintenance, turnaround execution, and project work.

  
  

Process Safety & Management of Change

• Support and execute Management of Change (MOC) activities for Electrical design packages and field modifications.

  
  

• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  
  

• Collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Technical, and Project teams to ensure solutions are safe, operable, and maintainable.

  
  

• Provide guidance on technical inquiries and issue technical recommendations.

  
  

• Support improvements to Electrical engineering tools, standard work processes, and workflows.

  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (B.E/B.Tech) from a recognized university.

  
  

• Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience including brownfield environments.

  
  

• Demonstrated experience providing electrical engineering support to operating facilities.

  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience in oil & gas, refining, LNG, or petrochemical environments.

  
  

• Experience executing brownfield projects for onshore facilities and infrastructure and/or complex process facilities.

  
  

• Strong working knowledge of  Project execution and interface skills for brownfield projects

  
  

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm
