Lead Fire and Safety Engineer

Job Summary: The Fire Protection System Design Engineer will lead the design and implementation of fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of fire protection principles, engineering expertise, and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

1. System Design:
   • Design fire sprinkler, deluge, suppression and alarm systems based on project specifications.
   • Conduct hydraulic calculations and ensure optimal system performance.
   • Select appropriate equipment and materials for fire protection systems.

1. Code Compliance:
   • Stay current with local and national fire codes, regulations, and standards.
   • Ensure all designs adhere to applicable safety and environmental guidelines.

1. Collaboration:
   • Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire protection systems seamlessly into project designs.
   • Participate in project meetings, providing technical input and support.

1. Documentation:
   • Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
   • Maintain accurate records of design changes, approvals, and project revisions.

1. Technical Analysis:
   • Conduct risk assessments and analyses to identify potential fire hazards.
   • Perform system inspections and troubleshoot issues during the design and implementation phases.

1. Project Management:
   • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets related to fire protection system design.
   • Communicate project status and updates to relevant stakeholders.

1. Training and Support:
   • Provide training and support to internal teams and clients on fire protection system designs and functionalities.
   • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team skill development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• 10-15years of experience in designing fire protection systems for various projects.
• Proficiency in relevant design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, REVIT, hydraulic calculation software).
