This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Bridge Engineer to join Buro Happold’s Bridges team in Bengaluru and help us deliver innovative bridge projects across the world. 

You will work closely with leading architects and multidisciplinary teams on schemes ranging from elegant architectural footbridges to major highway and rail bridges in locations including the UK, Germany, Saudi Arabia, UAE and the USA.

Our Bridges team works on some of the most interesting and ambitious bridge projects globally, including lightweight and architecturally expressive structures that form key elements of major masterplans and public realm schemes.

You will work closely with many of the world’s leading architectural practices and have opportunities to contribute to design competitions, major urban infrastructure, and landmark bridges that create long-term positive impact for people, places and the planet.

Your next role

• Detailed analysis and bridge design.
• Attend workshops with architects and clients.
• Leaning new software such as visual programme tools e.g., Grasshopper.
• Embodied carbon calculations.
• Perform design verification and independent checks.
• Analyse erection techniques.
• Help the team move towards our internal and external sustainability goals.
• Assess strength and propose rehabilitation of existing structures. 

Your skills and experience:

• 6+ years of design engineer with a strong background in bridge design who wants to grow expertise on complex and high-profile projects internationally. 
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. or Master of Structural Engineering (or equivalent) and Chartered Engineer status or nearing completion (MICE, MIStructE or equivalent international qualification such as PE/SE).
• Strong experience working on multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Collaborative and proactive team player in multidisciplinary environments.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and commitment to technical quality
• Willingness to learn, improve and adopt new tools and methodologies
• Clear communicator with strong presentation and interpersonal skills
