WHAT YOU’LL DO


We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer – Backend to build and maintain scalable,
reliable backend services. You will contribute to feature development, collaborate across teams, and follow engineering best practices to deliver high-quality software in a cloud-native environment.


As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our organization and clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, develop efficient code, perform rigorous testing, and deliver robust software products. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software development, a passion for technology, and a drive for continuous learning and improvement.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services and APIs supporting product features.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into efficient technical implementations.
  • Contribute to API design, implementation, and documentation with a focus on usability and scalability.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following established coding standards and design principles.
  • Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Debug and resolve issues across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Optimize application performance, including database queries and service response times.
  • Work with logging and monitoring tools to ensure system health and troubleshoot issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, QA, DevOps) to deliver features end-to-end.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and contribute to deployment and release improvements.
  • Follow secure coding practices and contribute to application-level security.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH


At H&M Group, you’ll be part of the Price Adjustments product in the In-season Optimisation Area which builds products to help our merchandisers in reducing prices at a lower cost for the company, by offering efficient, risk- minimized tools for planning and managing price reductions in a data-driven way.


The team strives towards creating a “one stop shop” application for managing price reductions for both Online and Retail by providing functional flows for reduction activity planning & event calendar, article selection and pricing with & without AI, omni channel price alignment, “one click” for automatic activation in both sales channels etc.


Our team includes 6+ engineers a mix of full-time employees in India and remote consultants collaborating closely to deliver high-impact solutions. We value continuous improvement, strong engineering practices, and a shared commitment to H&M’s success.


WHO YOU ARE


We are looking for people with


  • 4–6 years of backend development experience with .NET Framework / C#.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including deployments and key security
    practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Entity Framework and ORM concepts.
  • Solid experience with T-SQL and SQL Server, including query development and performance tuning.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Understanding of scalable application design and performance optimization.
  • Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and debugging techniques.
  • Working knowledge of clean code principles and software development best practices.

Preferred Skills:


  • Exposure to Azure Data Factory or other data integration tools.
  • Familiarity with microservices or distributed systems concepts.
  • Azure certifications (nice to have).
  • Basic understanding of containerization (Docker) or messaging systems
