The Role
NAIS Dublin is looking for a reliable, practical and proactive Maintenance Caretaker to join our operations team. This is a newly structured role responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair and upkeep of our Leopardstown campus, ensuring the school building and grounds are kept in excellent condition for students, staff and visitors. You will carry out a mix of planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair work, support the set-up of school events and spaces, and act as a first-line response to premises issues throughout the school day. You will work closely with our Head of Operations and Health and Safety Officer as part of a small, hands-on operations team.

Trade qualification or technical training in a relevant discipline (e.g. plumbing, electrical, carpentry or general maintenance)

Experience
Proven experience in a building maintenance, caretaking or facilities role
Essential
Experience carrying out minor repairs and maintenance across a range of building systems and fixtures

Experience working in a school, public sector or busy multi-occupancy building

Experience working alongside a health and safety function

Skills and Personal Attributes
Practical knowledge of building maintenance, minor repairs and basic mechanical and electrical systems

Knowledge of H&S responsibilities in a premises context, including COSHH and manual handling

Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks including lifting, carrying and working at height with appropriate equipment

Reliable, punctual and organised with an excellent attendance record

Good communication skills and a professional, helpful manner with staff and visitors

Flexible and willing to adjust hours when required for school events
