The role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Instrument & Control Engineer to support the delivery of major utility, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will provide technical oversight of instrumentation, automation, control, and SCADA systems throughout construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases, ensuring reliable system integration and operational performance.

• Provide technical supervision of instrumentation, automation, control, telemetry, and SCADA system installation activities across complex infrastructure projects.
• Review engineering documentation, instrumentation layouts, control philosophies, P&IDs, loop diagrams, technical submittals, and construction methodologies.
• Monitor installation, testing, commissioning, and system performance verification activities to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Support factory and site acceptance testing, loop checking, system integration, and operational readiness assessments.
• Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes for instrumentation, control, and automation systems.
• Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support seamless integration of electrical, mechanical, process, and control systems.
• Maintain commissioning records, technical documentation, defect tracking registers, and project reporting requirements.
• Review as-built documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, and handover deliverables.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting, system optimization, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in instrumentation, control, automation, or SCADA engineering on major utility, industrial, water, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, telemetry, field instrumentation, control systems, communication networks, and integrated plant automation.
• Demonstrated experience in testing, commissioning, loop checking, system integration, and performance verification of complex control systems.
• Proven ability to review engineering documentation, control philosophies, instrumentation drawings, technical submissions, and contractor deliverables.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces during construction, commissioning, and operational handover phases.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical reporting skills with strong English language proficiency.
