Job Description





Purpose of the Role

The Humanities Teacher at Smart Vision School is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons in subjects such as History, Geography, and Global Citizenship, helping students understand the world around them while developing critical thinking, curiosity, and a respect for diverse cultures.



The teacher will create a positive and inclusive learning environment, adapting teaching strategies to support the needs of all learners while encouraging students to develop analytical skills, global awareness, and a love for learning.



This role aligns with the UK Teachers’ Standards, KHDA Education Inspection Framework, and UAE Ministry of Education priorities, ensuring excellence in teaching, student wellbeing, safeguarding, and academic progress.



Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Learning
  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Humanities lessons that develop students’ understanding of historical, geographical, and global concepts.



  • Inspire students to think critically about societies, cultures, environments, and historical events.



  • Use strong subject knowledge and effective pedagogy to motivate and challenge students.



  • Use a range of teaching strategies, enquiry-based learning, and ICT tools to enhance learning.



  • Adapt lessons to support Students of Determination, ELL learners, and students with diverse learning needs.



  • Encourage students to develop research, analytical, and communication skills.





Assessment, Recording, and Reporting
  • Assess and monitor student progress regularly using a range of formative and summative assessment strategies.



  • Provide constructive feedback to help students improve and reach their potential.



  • Support students in setting and reviewing personal learning targets.



  • Maintain accurate records of academic progress and student development.



  • Contribute to school reports, references, and parent meetings.

Skills, Qualifications, and ExperienceEssential
  • Relevant Humanities degree (History, Geography, or related field).



  • Recognised teaching qualification.



  • Minimum two years’ teaching experience in a school environment.



  • Strong understanding of assessment, differentiation, and inclusive teaching strategies.



  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.



  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.



Desirable
  • Experience teaching in international schools or within the UAE.



  • Familiarity with KHDA inspection expectations and the British curriculum.
