Purpose of the Job


As a Product Manager, you define, deploy, and drive the product strategy and roadmap based on market needs, solution requirements, and competitive analysis. You are accountable for the full product lifecycle (development, maintenance, end-of-life) and for managing overall QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) performance.


Main Responsibilities


Strategy & Planning


• Define product strategy and formalize it in the roadmap.


• Manage product lifecycle status from introduction to end-of-life (Phase-in/Phase-out).


• Define new development projects based on needs (features, evolutions).


• Communicate roadmap progress and keep stakeholders informed through regular reviews.


• Control total product cost and implement competitiveness actions.


• Improve production lead times and time-to-market in collaboration with procurement teams.


• Manage phase-in/phasing-out plans with Solution and Service teams.


• Implement cost improvement plans for recurring, development, and maintenance costs.


• Manage obsolescence risks (product, test benches, tools) and make associated business decisions.


• Ensure management of all product data (catalog, datasheet, user manual) and KPIs


Execution & Support


• Ensure product quality and performance (change management, impact analysis, root cause analysis, safety status).


• Support project and tender teams with product expertise.


• Participate in customer demonstrations, pre-tender activities, and maintainability actions.


• Contribute to internal training on the product.


Coordination & Follow-Up


• Collaborate with solution directors, supply chain, and technical teams for volume forecasting.


• Deploy strategic initiatives through robust governance.


• Ensure technical communication (bulletins, alerts, technical notes).


• Work closely with product architects and specification teams to identify generic features and promote standardization.


• Consider quality and non-functional aspects (cybersecurity, availability, reliability).


• Act as Program Development Manager (PDM) when required, taking responsibility for the coordination, planning, and execution of development programs. This includes leading multidisciplinary teams, ensuring technical and operational alignment, delivering projects according to QCD objectives.


Profile


Education


• Technical degree (mechanical, electrical, electronic) mandatory.


• Additional business education or equivalent is a plus.


Experience


• Significant experience in the railway industry with strong operational background.


• Minimum 4-5 years in system/product engineering or product management in digital/railway/automotive/aerospace sectors.


• Experience in product development across the full lifecycle.

• Ability to develop strategies and structure improvement programs.


• Global vision of product use cases, customers, and deliverables.


• Capacity to build a strong network within the company.
