Role Overview


We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytically driven Apprentice to support both operations and analytics within the India Repair Center. The role focuses on improving repair efficiency through data-driven insights and strong inventory & material handling practices, including spare parts management and defective core tracking. This position is ideal for candidates interested in repair operations, inventory control, and service analytics.


Key Responsibilities


1. Repair Center Operations & Inventory Management


  • Support day-to-day repair center operations with focus on material flow and system accuracy
  • Manage and maintain inventory of spares and repair materials within the center
  • Ensure proper storage, binning, labeling, and traceability of parts
  • Monitor stock levels and assist in identifying shortages, excess, or discrepancies
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (stores, logistics, service teams) to ensure smooth operations

2. Spare Parts & Defective Core Handling


  • Handle inwarding of spare parts, including verification, system entry, and arrangement
  • Track movement of spare parts and ensure accurate consumption recording in SAP/ServiceMax
  • Manage defective cores lifecycle including inward, identification, storage, and transfer
  • Maintain records of core returns, replacements, and scrapping as per process
  • Ensure compliance with system and process requirements for material tracking

3. Repair Center Data Analysis & Insights


  • Consolidate and analyze data from SAP, ServiceMax, and other systems to support operations
  • Develop dashboards and reports covering:
    • Spares consumption and inventory trends
    • Failure/error patterns in repairs
    • Repair center performance and turnaround metrics
    • Customer usage and service demand trends
  • Identify inefficiencies, material gaps, and process improvement opportunities
  • Provide actionable insights to enhance repair efficiency, reduce turnaround time, and optimize inventory
  • Support forecasting of spare parts demand and consumption patterns

4. Continuous Improvement


  • Recommend process improvements based on operational data and analysis
  • Support implementation of best practices in inventory control and repair workflows
  • Assist in driving data accuracy, system discipline, and standardization across processes

Required Skills & Qualifications


Education


  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Industrial preferred)
    • Science graduates
    • Supply Chain / Operations / Logistics
    • Data Analytics (with operations exposure)
    • Or related field

Technical Skills


  • Working knowledge of:
    • Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
    • Basic data visualization (Power BI / Tableau preferred)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP) and service tools (ServiceMax) is an added advantage

Functional & Analytical Skills


  • Understanding of inventory management, material flow, or repair operations (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to interpret data and link it to operational improvements

Soft Skills


  • Attention to detail and process-oriented mindset
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Self-driven with willingness to work in a hands-on operational environment
