Airbag Software Architect (10–15 Years)


About the Role


We are looking for a passionate and experienced Software Architect to drive the architecture and development of next-generation automotive safety platform software for Airbag Electronic Control Units (ECUs). In this role, you will define software architecture, guide technical teams, influence platform strategy, and ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable, and safety-compliant embedded software solutions.

Key Responsibilities


Software Architecture & Design


  • Own software architecture for automotive embedded systems throughout the complete software lifecycle.
  • Translate system requirements into scalable, modular and maintainable software architectures.
  • Develop and review High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD).
  • Define architectural guidelines, software interfaces and design principles.
  • Drive architecture reviews and ensure compliance with software quality standards including resource consumption.

Requirements & Quality


  • Perform requirement engineering, feasibility analysis, and impact assessment.
  • Review software requirements, test specifications, and design artifacts.
  • Moderate Change Control Boards (CCBs) and assess software impacts for change requests.
  • Support project estimation, planning, and technical risk assessment.

Safety & Dependability


  • Define, implement, and verify dependability and safety-related software requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive software quality processes and standards.
  • Support software architecture reviews with respect to reliability, maintainability, and robustness.

Software Development & Debugging


  • Support embedded software development using C.
  • Drive complex debugging, root cause analysis, and issue resolution. Good exposure to systematic methodology like DRBFM
  • Ensure software quality through effective design reviews and technical governance.

Technical Leadership


  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to Software Leads and development teams.
  • Strong system thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Guide teams in resolving complex technical challenges and architectural bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with System, Software, Test, and Project teams across global locations.
  • Participate in technical decision-making and platform roadmap discussions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Good knowledge in Agile methodologies

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded System, Computer Science or related disciplines.
  • 10–15 years of experience in Automotive Embedded Software Development in large/medium scale projects
  • Proven experience as Software Architect or Senior Technical Lead.
