Job Title / Role : Buyer – Corporate Services, General Procurement




Location : Bengaluru, India

Brief Description :




The Buyer will be responsible for managing procurement activities for Corporate Services Commodity including areas like Business consulting, HR Services, Travel & Communication, Finance, Statutory Audit, M&A, Tax consulting, Company Car Lease, Employee wellness and benefit, Recruitment) for Airbus India & South Asia. The role focuses on implementing Airbus procurement processes, ensuring supplier lifecycle management and maintaining compliance, governance, and integrity. This is an individual contributor role, reporting directly to the Ho General Procurement (GP) – Airbus India & South Asia, and requires delivering projects within timelines and committed milestones.




Key Roles & Responsibilities :




1. Procurement Strategy and Operations:




  • Manage procurement activities across multiple sub-commodities, ensuring alignment with organization objectives and Airbus processes.
  • Lead and execute the Call for Tender (CFT) process, including strategy definition, supplier engagement, negotiations and contract closure.
  • Drive the supplier onboarding process, ensuring suppliers meet compliance, quality and performance criteria.
  • Strategic Sourcing - Co-design with global commodity functions and business, support & drive Global Sourcing Strategy for the business and formulating the roadmap for the supply chain in India & the region.
  • Governance - Define governance plans and track project / relationship health, to coordinate Multi Functional Teams, trans-national and / or trans-divisional covering various Airbus business entities.
  • Procurement Marketing - Identify market trends, benchmark competitor strategies & monitor supplier landscape, propose business cases & solutions to improve value delivered from Indian supply chain capabilities.
  • Call for tender Management - Lead cross-functional teams within the framework of local and global procurement projects - Involve further where required other relevant functions - Run the suppliers selection process, negotiation process, costing & contractual discussions.
  • Lead & Execute procurement process with help of buyers and take end-to-end accountability for Corporate Services right from Sourcing to Ordering for Purchase of goods or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Benchmarking: Develop Offshoring / Outsourcing models and solutions to contribute to the company’s strategy and goals as needed/requested by leadership.
  • Risk mitigation and process optimization to enhance procurement efficiency.
  • Perform Contract Management based on consistent and factual KPIs, evaluate and improve suppliers' performance in terms of time, costs and quality.
  • Contribute to business case development (incl. validation of procurement baseline)
  • Lead end-to-end relationship management for corporate service vendors, driving continuous improvement and maximizing value for the organization
  • In the frame of risk management, assess suppliers' overall performance and initiate recovery actions
  • Support management on deliveries, GRNs, and process returns to vendors.
  • Provide advice and support to the business, understanding their requirements and guiding them to the most appropriate inventory and services.
  • Prepare and maintain compelling and executive ready slides for weekly, monthly, quarterly and other ad-hoc executive briefings, reviews and other key meetings with stakeholders
  • Drive compliant Airbus General Procurement processes and ensure implementation of rules, standards and business practice in accordance with Airbus policies.


2. Compliance and Integrity:



  • Ensure adherence to procurement governance, ethical standards and Airbus compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks related to fraud, non-compliance, and supplier governance.
  • Enforce a structured approach to contract lifecycle management and supplier audits.

3. Supplier and Stakeholder Management:



  • Build and sustain value-driven relationships with suppliers across various commodity domains.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, digital, consulting etc.) to deliver procurement projects within timelines and committed milestones.
  • Work closely with internal & external stakeholders providing clarity on procurement status, KPIs, and risk assessments.

4. Focus on Timelines and Commitments:



  • Ensure timely delivery of procurement activities and supplier engagements as per defined project schedules.
  • Optimize workflows to enhance procurement efficiency and meet business-critical deadlines.













Qualifications, Skill and Experience Levels




  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes: sourcing, tendering (CFT), supplier onboarding, and contract management.
  • Minimum 4 years of strategic sourcing experience. Specialized knowledge in HR Services, Tax Consulting, or Advisory Services is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in project/program management with at least 3 years of dedicated experience.
  • Expert-level knowledge of strategic sourcing, commercial analysis, and end-to-end purchasing processes.
  • Bachelor’s/B.Tech degree is a must. Preferred: MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, or International Business.
  • Expertise in managing multi-commodity procurement activities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong compliance mindset with an ability to enforce governance and risk mitigation processes.
  • Proven project management skills with a focus on timelines and delivery commitments.
  • Highly analytical, results-oriented, and committed to optimizing procurement efficiency.
  • Familiarity with ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Coupa..) and supplier management platforms.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence while remaining a cohesive team player. Proven success working with remote management and colleagues across distributed global teams.
  • A proactive, resilient, and assertive contributor who practices active listening and demonstrates self-awareness.
  • Committed to ethical conduct, showing moral courage, transparency and honesty in all professional dealings.
  • Fluent in English with the ability to convey complex information clearly (written and verbal) to stakeholders
  • Proficiency in tools like MS Office, Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets) for daily operations and executive reporting.
  • An optimistic and growth-oriented mindset with a strong willingness to learn.
