The Role


As a Buyer I with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.


  • Responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services for the organization.
  • Work closely with suppliers, evaluate product quality and pricing, and ensure timely delivery to meet the company's needs.
  • Prepare and issue requests for quotations (RFQs) to potential suppliers.
  • Follow-up with bidders for bid acknowledgment, expediting for timely submission of bids, resolving bidder queries, technical deviation requests, etc. if any.
  • Support in  supplier performance assessments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, Projects.
  • Utilize procurement software and systems to streamline procurement processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant procurement policies, regulations.
  • Updating and Maintaining Purchase Control Sheet.
  • Prepare and Organize Kick-Off Meeting for equipment’s and bulks.

Other Attributes


  • Establishing Initial Contact through email, organizing Kick-Off Meetings to discuss critical documents as per Vendor document delivery schedule (VDDS), critical sub-ordering, and Order Execution plan.  
  • Regular follow-up with supplier for documentation and material status.
  • Expediting with internal team for approval of critical documents.
  • Co-ordination between supplier and technical team wherever required.
  • Track procurement and manufacturing activities are as per schedule.
  • Creating and Maintaining Material Status Reports (MSR) for all orders.
  • Attending Weekly / Monthly meeting and record discussions.
  • Material Tracking and Furnish required support till delivery of the Material.

About You


To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:


  • Knowledge of equipment/items required in Petrochemical industries.
  • Understanding of Contractual Terms and Conditions.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Relationship management.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools .
  • A degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Civil) or Diploma Holder with extensive experience along with specialization in Procurement Department in Petrochemical / Energy Sector.
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in procurement, or supply chain management within the oil and gas industry, Chemical industry preferably in a consulting or project-based environment.
