Job Summary
Synechron seeks a seasoned Datacentre Operations & IT Infrastructure Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead end-to-end datacentre operations and complex IT infrastructure initiatives. This role combines robust hands-on expertise in data center management with strategic program management, governance, and cross-functional leadership. The TPM will oversee rack and stack, server hardware, virtualization, storage, network infrastructure, and datacentre modernization efforts while coordinating with internal teams, OEMs, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
Software Requirements
Required Skills (Essential)
Deep knowledge of datacentre operations and IT infrastructure management, including rack & stack, cabling, power and cooling, asset tracking, and facilities monitoring
Strong experience with Windows and Linux/Unix server administration; virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
Proficiency in server hardware lifecycle management and hardware maintenance planning
Broad network infrastructure understanding (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls)
Experience with storage, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
ITIL-based service delivery experience (incident, change, problem, and service management)
Strong vendor and stakeholder management capabilities; ability to manage cross-location teams
Proven project management discipline with the ability to develop, maintain, and communicate project plans and roadmaps
Ability to prepare and manage high-level estimates and assist with capacity planning
Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Skills
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and hybrid cloud integrations
IT certifications related to data centers, virtualization, cloud, or ITIL (e.g., VMware, ITIL, CISSP)
Experience with automation and orchestration tools for data center operations
Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks relevant to data center operations
Overall Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end datacentre operations and IT infrastructure programs, including modernization, migration, upgrades, and decommissioning
Define and manage IT infrastructure program plans, milestones, resource needs, and risk mitigation strategies
Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, OEMs, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and service levels
Oversee the deployment and operation of Windows/Linux servers, storage, network equipment, virtualization, and backup/recovery solutions
Enforce ITIL processes and ensure adherence to security, governance, and compliance standards
Drive optimization of datacentre operations for efficiency, resilience, and cost effectiveness
Develop and maintain architecture and operation documentation, runbooks, and change control procedures
Monitor capacity, performance, and availability; implement improvements and preventive measures
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and provide mentorship to junior engineers and team members

Experience coordinating across multiple teams, vendors, and client environments
Knowledge of bank/financial services or regulated industry environments is a plus
Alternative pathways: extensive hands-on data center projects or relevant certifications
Day-to-Day Activities
Plan, design, and oversee datacentre operations and IT infrastructure projects
Lead cross-functional teams across locations; provide technical guidance
Manage vendor relationships, quotes, and procurement activities
Monitor, report, and mitigate risks; escalate issues as needed
Review architectural and technical documents; contribute to estimates and roadmaps
Facilitate change control, deployment planning, and go-live support
Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and project documentation
Mentor and develop junior staff; drive continuous improvement
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Relevant certifications in virtualization, cloud platforms, ITIL, or data center management are advantageous
