Job description

Role Purpose

A design-led practitioner who owns the look, feel and usability of Puma Energy’s digital presence — including pumaenergy.com and the corporate intranet. This is first and foremost a design role: the priority is craft, taste and user-centred thinking, expressed through polished, on-brand web experiences. Figma is the primary design environment, and the analyst is expected to work fluently in an AI-augmented workflow to move faster, prototype earlier and lift quality across every property.

The person operates at the intersection of Corporate Affairs (brand, narrative, stakeholder communication) and Digitization (platforms, engineering standards, data and AI), translating both into digital products people actually enjoy using.

Key Responsibilities

Design (primary focus)

  • Lead the end-to-end design of web and intranet experiences — information architecture, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mock-ups and interactive prototypes.
  • Own and evolve a scalable design system and component library that keeps every Puma Energy property visually consistent and on-brand.
  • Bring strong craft in typography, layout, colour, hierarchy and accessible visual states — the judgement that distinguishes a design-led hire from a template user.
  • Translate Corporate Affairs’ brand and messaging into intuitive, compelling digital journeys.

AI-augmented workflow (preferred and expected)

  • Use AI-assisted design and build tools (e.g. Figma First Draft / Make, Dev Mode, generative content and image tooling) to accelerate ideation, prototyping and handoff — while applying human judgement on taste, semantics and accessibility.
  • Continuously identify where AI can compress design and delivery cycles, and codify those workflows for the wider team.

Web & portal delivery

  • Build and maintain responsive, accessible front-end interfaces for pumaenergy.com, the intranet and campaign/microsites.
  • Configure and manage CMS / intranet portal structure, content models and publishing workflows.
  • Ensure performance, SEO, accessibility (WCAG) and cross-device / cross-browser quality across all properties.

Collaboration

  • Partner with Digitization on platform, hosting, security and integration standards.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external agencies on timelines and delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 3–4 years in digital / product design, with demonstrable design-led ownership of web experiences (portfolio essential).
  • Expert-level Figma: design systems, auto-layout, interactive prototyping and clean developer handoff.
  • Strong foundation in UX and visual design — IA, user flows, typography, responsive design and accessibility.
  • Practical experience using AI-based design and engineering tools in real delivery, not just experimentation.
  • Working front-end capability: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and a modern framework (React preferred) to take designs into production.
  • Experience with a CMS or intranet portal platform (headless CMS, SharePoint / Viva or equivalent).
Preferred
  • Enterprise or corporate intranet experience (SharePoint / Viva or similar).
  • Familiarity with design tokens and design-to-code pipelines (e.g. Figma Code Connect).
  • Exposure to analytics, A/B testing and conversion-focused design.
  • Comfort operating in a multi-country, matrixed environment across Africa and LATAM.
Attributes
  • Design-first instinct — leads with taste and user empathy, backs it with data.
  • Bias to action; ships polished work fast without sacrificing craft.
  • Comfortable across two reporting lines — balances brand intent with engineering reality.
  • Self-directed, detail-obsessed and stakeholder-savvy.
