Job description

The Digital HW Engineer 2 will play a vital role in our NI ON  department. They will be responsible for managing lab operations, performing soldering tasks, and providing support to engineers. Additionally, they will handle inventory management, equipment calibration, and ensure compliance with safety standards. This role is an integral part of our team, contributing to the overall success of our hardware and testing operations.



Responsibilities:
  • Maintain lab operations, including cleanliness, safety, and organization of electrical/electronics lab.
  • Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of lab equipment and tools.
  • Perform precision soldering and de-soldering of SMD and through-hole components.
  • Assist engineers with PCB assembly, modification, and rework.
  • Manage inventory of electronic components, tools, and consumables, tracking usage and reordering as needed.
  • Coordinate and manage AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts) for all lab equipment, maintaining calibration records.
  • Support environmental testing by managing thermal chambers and test facilities.
  • Assist engineers in setting up test benches and validation setups, providing hardware support.
  • Prepare wiring, fixtures, and measurement setups for testing activities.
  • Maintain documentation for calibration, inventory, and equipment usage, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a lab environment.
  • Excellent soldering skills, with the ability to work with SMD and through-hole components.
  • Knowledge of PCB assembly, modification, and rework processes.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment and tools, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing inventory and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good communication skills for effective collaboration with engineers and procurement teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
