Director - Development Advisory Services

Project and Development Services

What this job involves:

Leading Building Consultancy Operations

As Director of Development Advisory Services, you will lead the Building Consultancy vertical, providing strategic oversight and operational excellence across technical advisory services. You will guide teams in delivering comprehensive consultancy reports for investors, lenders, developers and occupiers across various asset classes at both pre-acquisition and portfolio management stages.

Your primary responsibility includes overseeing the quality and accuracy of Technical Due Diligence reports and ensuring teams capture the right data, insights and risk assessments. You will provide hands-on guidance to consultants on technical evaluations spanning residential, commercial, hospitality, industrial and mixed-use properties, including building systems assessment (MEP, structural, envelope), defect analysis, statutory compliance verification, capital expenditure forecasting, lifecycle costing, and comprehensive risk evaluation.

Quality Assurance and Technical Excellence

You will establish and maintain rigorous quality control frameworks for all Building Consultancy deliverables. This includes reviewing complex technical reports, validating assessment methodologies, ensuring compliance with National Building Codes and local regulations, and maintaining consistency with industry standards and client expectations. Your deep hands-on experience in Technical Due Diligence, Base Build execution, and Fitout project delivery will enable you to mentor teams and elevate the technical rigor of all outputs.

Business Development and Client Relationship Management

Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new client opportunities within existing relationships and developing strategic partnerships with new clients. You will lead high-stakes client presentations, participate in proposal development, and leverage your established network of vendors, architects, consultants and industry professionals to expand service offerings and market reach. Your entrepreneurial approach will focus on converting market insights into actionable business opportunities that strengthen competitive positioning.

Technology Integration and Innovation

Champion the adoption of technology solutions, digital tools, automation platforms, and PropTech innovations that enhance efficiency, improve report quality, reduce turnaround times, and differentiate service delivery. You will identify opportunities to leverage data analytics, AI-driven insights, and digital workflows to automate routine processes and elevate the value proposition of advisory services.

Strategic Leadership and Team Development

Provide strategic direction to the Advisory vertical by analyzing market trends, identifying service expansion opportunities, and recommending approaches that strengthen market positioning and client value delivery. You will build and develop high-performing teams, establish best practices, drive knowledge sharing, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Operational Management

Oversee end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder projects from inception through completion. You will manage resource allocation, coordinate cross-functional teams including engineers, surveyors, and specialists, ensure timely delivery against quality benchmarks, and maintain comprehensive records of project data, contract summaries, invoicing records, and performance metrics across all Building Consultancy engagements.

Core Skillset:

The position requires proven leadership in project and program management with exceptional organizational skills, strategic thinking capabilities, and ability to manage high-pressure situations while delivering to tight deadlines. Comprehensive understanding of building systems, construction processes, defect analysis, capital planning, and real estate transaction dynamics is essential. Strong analytical abilities, business acumen, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical. Knowledge of valuation principles, ESG considerations, sustainability certifications, PropTech solutions, and National Building Codes is required.

Detail Oriented

You will establish documentation standards, implement rigorous quality assurance processes, and use deep market knowledge and client insights to proactively identify risks, address gaps in service delivery, and drive continuous improvement in outcomes.

Research Savvy

You will monitor emerging industry trends, innovative methodologies, regulatory changes, and evolving client requirements. You will develop thought leadership content, contribute to the firm's knowledge management systems, and use competitive intelligence to position the team for strategic advantage.

Problem Solver

You will resolve complex challenges through strategic thinking, technical expertise, and effective stakeholder engagement. Your ability to anticipate issues, develop solutions, mobilize teams, and drive execution will ensure projects exceed expectations and clients remain satisfied throughout engagements.

Sound like you? To apply you need to be:

Effective Communicator

Exceptional written and oral communication skills with ability to distill complex technical information into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences including C-suite executives, investors, lenders, and development teams. Strong presentation and negotiation skills to influence senior stakeholders and close strategic opportunities.

Resilient

Positive, proactive leadership style with demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, navigate complexity, and deliver results under pressure. You will handle multiple high-value projects simultaneously while maintaining service excellence, mentoring teams, and driving business growth.
