Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to design and build scalable platform services that power enterprise digital products (e.g., eCommerce, asset operations, customer and transaction platforms). This role requires deep expertise in Spring Boot, AWS, and microservices, along with strong technical leadership to guide teams in building reusable, high-performing platform capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Engineering & Architecture

• Design and develop domain-aligned platform services (e.g., customer lookup, pricing, inventory, order, document/invoice, agreements)

  
  
  

• Define and implement microservices architecture patterns for high scalability, resiliency, and reuse

  
  
  

• Drive API-first design with clear service contracts for cross-channel consumption

  
  
  

• Ensure data consistency and integration patterns across distributed systems (event-driven, API orchestration)

  
  
  

Cloud & Platform Enablement

• Develop and deploy services on AWS (EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, S3)

  
  
  

• Leverage cloud-native patterns (auto-scaling, observability, fault tolerance)

  
  
  

• Partner with platform teams to align with shared services, governance, and security frameworks

  
  
  

Technical Leadership

• Lead a team of engineers delivering platform capabilities across multiple domains

  
  
  

• Drive design reviews, architecture alignment, and technical roadmaps

  
  
  

• Mentor engineers on domain-driven design (DDD), microservices best practices, and coding standards

  
  
  

• Collaborate with product, UX, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions

  
  
  

Quality, Reliability & DevOps

• Implement CI/CD pipelines and ensure automated testing (unit, integration, contract testing)

  
  
  

• Ensure SLAs/SLOs for platform services (availability, latency, throughput)

  
  
  

• Monitor services using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana

  
  
  

• Lead production issue triage and root cause resolution

  
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• 10+ years in Java backend development

  
  
  

• Strong hands-on experience with:

  
  
  

  • Spring Boot, Spring Cloud

    
    
    

  • Microservices & distributed systems

    
    
    

  • RESTful APIs and event-driven architecture

    
    
    

  • AWS cloud services (EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway)

    
    
    

• Experience designing reusable platform services and APIs

  
  
  

Domain & Integration Experience

• Experience in platform/service-layer development for:

  
  
  

  • Digital commerce OR enterprise operations platforms

    
    
    

• Strong understanding of:

  
  
  

  • System integration patterns (API orchestration, event streaming)

    
    
    

  • Data modeling for distributed systems

    
    
    

Leadership & Execution

• Proven experience leading engineering teams or acting as Technical Lead

  
  
  

• Strong ability to drive cross-team alignment across dependent platform services

  
  
  

• Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments

  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with domain-driven design (DDD) and bounded contexts

  
  
  

• Exposure to enterprise digital platforms (eCommerce, asset/operations systems)

  
  
  

• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS)

  
  
  

• Familiarity with API gateways, service mesh, and platform governance models

  
  
  

• Experience with security & compliance frameworks (e.g., app security, API security)
