Position Summary:
The Engineer – Electrical Safety Testing is responsible for executing electrical safety testing activities in accordance with global standards and laboratory procedures. This role ensures accurate test execution, supports compliance with Quality Management Systems, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to address safety requirements for electrical and electromechanical products.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Execute electrical safety tests as per defined schedules and applicable standards
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of electrical safety standards such as IEC 61010 series, IEC 60950-1, IEC 62368-1, UL 508, and CSA standards
  • Perform safety tests including insulation resistance, dielectric strength, leakage current, and grounding continuity
  • Develop test procedures and generate detailed, accurate test reports
  • Operate and maintain test equipment and instrumentation
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve safety-related concerns
  • Maintain complete documentation and ensure traceability of all test activities
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety practices, calibration requirements, and QMS standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for testing processes
  • Adhere strictly to the laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
  • Support internal and external audit preparations (e.g., NABL, certification bodies)
  • Maintain laboratory environmental conditions, equipment health, and related documentation
  • Support preparation of laboratory for product certifications and external audits
  • Ensure proper functioning of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical testing systems
  • Assist in equipment calibration activities and report faults or abnormalities promptly
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of tools and instruments
  • Record test data in datasheets, logbooks, and digital systems; maintain proper records of samples and results
  • Update test data and documentation in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Perform QMS-related activities such as QC testing and participation in ILC/PT programs as assigned
  • Complete assigned training and competency development activities aligned with laboratory scope

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering discipline
  • Hands-on experience in electrical safety testing aligned with IEC, UL, or CSA standards
  • Working knowledge of insulation resistance, dielectric strength, leakage current, and grounding tests
  • Experience in test procedure development and reporting
  • Understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 and laboratory QMS practices
  • Experience working in NABL-accredited or similar testing laboratories
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and ensure traceability
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Experience in testing industrial electrical and electromechanical products
  • Exposure to certification processes and regulatory audits
