The Embedded Software Engineer - Delivery is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining embedded software that is integral to measurement and control systems. This role focuses on delivering high-performance, reliable, and efficient software solutions for embedded environments, including those incorporating multiple processors and real-time operating systems (RTOS). The Embedded Software Engineer - Delivery evaluates methods, technologies, and tools to support troubleshooting, technology upgrades, and redesigns. Responsibilities include defining and implementing best practices, frameworks, and processes to enhance embedded software quality and maintainability. Acting as a subject matter expert (SME), the engineer provides quick, expert responses to field, client, or manufacturing issues and contributes to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the local and global community. This role plays a critical part in ensuring operational continuity, driving innovation, and maintaining the reliability of embedded systems.

  • Maintain, enhance, and support embedded software for measurement and control systems incorporating multiple processors using real time operating systems, ensuring alignment with operational and user needs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in embedded software by providing technical support to manufacturing, field teams, and customers through platforms like InTouch.
  • Troubleshoot complex design and testing-related issues, deliver timely corrective actions, and ensure operational continuity and effective issue resolution.
  • Develop, test, and refine high-speed, hard-real-time data acquisition and logging systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Evaluate and implement DSP algorithms and other embedded solutions to meet product requirements.
  • Design, conduct and coordinate tests, automate where possible, document results, and develop presentations to communicate findings effectively.
  • Ensure that embedded code and artifacts are managed and safeguarded in a configuration management system in accordance with procedures and guidelines.
  • Monitor source code quality using appropriate tools, ensuring adherence to coding standards and minimizing technical debt.
  • Propose and implement software upgrades, modifications, and enhancements based on feedback, operational needs, and emerging technologies.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary technical reviews of projects, ensuring compliance with design standards and supporting design reuse to enhance efficiency.
  • Create and maintain product documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and release notes, to support field teams and customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, delivery, and support of embedded software solutions.
  • Mentor junior team members and technicians, share expertise, and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the organization.
  • Stay updated on novel technical concepts, markets, and advancements in embedded software technology, adopting new practices to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Author technical reports, papers, articles, patents, and presentations to share knowledge and contribute to the organization's technical leadership.
  • Comply with the embedded software development process, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
