Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC) has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer – Refueling and Weapons systems (AAR & WCAR) in Mission Systems Division in the Aerospace Business. This position will be based in Pune, India. The responsibility is to design, develop, verify, and release mechanical products and subsystems from concept through production. The role focuses on delivering robust engineering solutions while independently owning technical work packages, ensuring execution meets quality, cost, performance, and schedule objectives. It also involves contributing to team goals, following engineering processes, and supporting detailed design, analysis, documentation, and risk management.
"The candidate in this position is responsible to -
• Develop robust engineering solutions meeting performance, reliability, manufacturability, safety, and cost requirements
• Translate customer, system, and product requirements into optimized design solutions
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, drawings, ECR/ECOs, technical documentation and product definition packages
• Apply GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, engineering calculations, and trade studies for design validation. Utilize DFSS concepts/tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements.
• Support material selection, manufacturing processes, DFM/DfX, and prototype development through qualification and production
• Support/Lead mechanical design and development from concept through production release
• Conduct design reviews, drive engineering changes, and ensure configuration management compliance
• Investigate and resolve technical issues across development, manufacturing, and in-service phases while ensuring standards compliance
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams and suppliers; coordinate technical activities and ensure timely closure of actions
• Own work packages end-to-end including planning, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and delivery aligned to quality, cost, and schedule.

5–8 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
Experience delivering products or subsystems from concept through production release, NPI/NPD execution, Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, 3D modelling/analysis tools, DFSS, Analytical Thinking, Solid foundation in engineering calculations, trade studies, and design validation techniques
Problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, communication, and execution ownership with a results-driven, digital mindset
