This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 100000 - Rs 3200000 (ie INR 1-32 LPA) Experience: 9+ yrs Location: Bengaluru Job Type: Full-Time We are seeking an experienced FPGA Design Engineer with a strong background in Defence, Aerospace, Avionics, or Radar systems to develop and deliver high-performance FPGA-based solutions for mission-critical applications.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in FPGA architecture, RTL development, prototyping, validation, and testing using industry-leading FPGA platforms.
In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design, implement, and optimize FPGA solutions for complex embedded systems.
You will be responsible for the complete FPGA development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and RTL coding through verification, hardware validation, and system integration, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement FPGA-based solutions for complex embedded systems and high-performance electronic applications.
Develop RTL designs using VHDL (and Verilog where applicable) following industry best practices.
Perform FPGA prototyping, functional verification, validation, debugging, and hardware testing.
Work with FPGA platforms such as Xilinx, Intel (Altera), Lattice, or Microsemi for implementation and optimization.
Integrate and validate high-speed interfaces while ensuring performance, timing closure, and signal integrity.
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, embedded software, and system engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Perform simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, timing analysis, and design optimization.
Support board bring-up, system integration, and root cause analysis of hardware and FPGA-related issues.
Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, verification reports, and test procedures.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, engineering processes, and project delivery timelines.
What Makes You a Great Fit 10–15 years of experience in FPGA Design and Development .
Strong background in Defence, Aerospace, Avionics, Radar, or related embedded electronics domains .
Hands-on expertise in VHDL programming with strong RTL design experience.
Proven experience in FPGA prototyping, design, validation, debugging, and testing.
Hands-on experience with FPGA platforms including Xilinx, Intel (Altera), Lattice, or Microsemi .
Strong understanding of FPGA architecture, synthesis, timing closure, and hardware validation methodologies.
Experience working with high-speed interfaces and digital communication protocols.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across cross-functional engineering teams.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, VLSI, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.
