Job description

Job TitleFrontend ArchitectJob DescriptionRole Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Frontend Architect to lead the technical strategy and design of our next-generation web applications. In this role, you will champion the adoption of the latest Angular frameworks, drive the transition to a robust micro-frontend architecture, and establish a scalable UI ecosystem using Atomic Design principles.

While your primary domain will be the frontend, you will work closely with our backend engineering teams. Therefore, a strong working knowledge of Java Spring Boot and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) is essential to ensure seamless integration and architectural alignment across the entire stack.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architectural Leadership: Design, architect, and implement scalable frontend solutions using the latest versions of Angular (standalone components, signals, strictly typed reactive forms, etc.).
  • Micro-Frontend Strategy: Lead the migration and development of our applications into a Micro-Frontend architecture (using Webpack Module Federation, single-spa, or similar techniques) to enable independent deployment and scaling by autonomous teams.
  • UI/UX Standardization: Establish and enforce a UI component library built strictly on Atomic Design principles (Atoms, Molecules, Organisms, Templates, Pages) to ensure high reusability, consistency, and maintainability across all digital products.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Bridge the gap between frontend and backend systems. Work closely with backend architects to design API contracts and align frontend modules with backend microservices built on Java Spring Boot.
  • Domain-Driven Design (DDD) Alignment: Translate complex business rules into technical architecture, ensuring frontend bounded contexts map logically to backend DDD structures.
  • Mentorship & Governance: Mentor senior and lead developers, conduct rigorous code reviews, and define coding standards, testing practices, and CI/CD pipelines for frontend artifacts.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and improve application performance, bundle sizes, rendering strategies (SSR/SSG), and core web vitals.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience:  12+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4+ years in a Lead or Architectural role focusing on frontend technologies.
  • Angular Expertise: Deep, hands-on mastery of the latest Angular ecosystem, RxJS, NgRx (or similar state management), and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Pattern Proficiency: Proven experience designing and implementing Micro-Frontend architectures at an enterprise scale.
  • Component Design: Extensive experience building highly modular UI libraries utilizing the Atomic Design pattern, integrating with tools like Storybook.
  • Testing & Tooling: Strong background in frontend testing strategies (Jest, Cypress, Playwright) and modern build tools (Webpack, Vite, esbuild).
Required Backend & Systems Awareness
  • Java Spring Boot: Familiarity with Java and Spring Boot ecosystems. You don't need to write backend code daily, but you must be able to read it, review it, and effectively collaborate with backend developers on API design.
  • Domain-Driven Design (DDD): Strong conceptual understanding of DDD concepts (Entities, Aggregates, Bounded Contexts, Ubiquitous Language) to align frontend architecture with the backend domain model.
  • API Design: Experience consuming and helping design RESTful APIs
