About the role Side is seeking an experienced India Controller (Finance) to join our finance team in Bangalore .
This is a hands-on finance leadership role covering the full spectrum of finance activities, including end-to-end accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, statutory compliance, audit coordination, cash flow management, and process improvement.
You will work closely with studio heads, finance leadership, FP&A, and other department leads to ensure accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and clear commercial insight across the business.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, commercially aware, and confident managing both finance processes and people.
Key responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting activities, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, P&L, balance sheet, and supporting schedules.
Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable accounting standards.
Oversee statutory compliance, including income tax, regulatory reporting, and audit requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors and prepare supporting documentation for annual audits.
Manage and improve finance operations across general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, credit control, petty cash, and cash management.
Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Ensure all financial transactions are appropriately supported, approved, and authorised.
Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in line with company policy.
Oversee capital asset accounting, including recording, amortisation, and disposal of assets.
Partner with FP&A teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Work closely with studio heads and business leaders to provide clear financial insight and decision support.
Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members.
Hold regular team meetings, provide feedback, and improve team performance, process efficiency, and turnaround times.
Build strong working relationships across finance, operations, and wider business functions.
Requirements Based in Bangalore, or able to work from the Bangalore office full-time.
Mandatory qualification: CA, CPA, CMA, or ICWA .
Strong end-to-end finance and accounting experience.
Proven experience managing month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, and reporting.
Experience overseeing general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, and credit control.
Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, audit preparation, and external auditor management.
Knowledge of US GAAP and global accounting standards.
Experience working with accounting and bookkeeping across multiple countries or regions, ideally including the US, Europe, and Asia.
Experience developing and maintaining financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Strong cash flow forecasting and working capital management experience.
Experience managing, mentoring, or supervising finance team members.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work under pressure and respond to business priorities.
