The Labeling Operations Team Lead is accountable for leading the artwork team located in AIN. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, artwork creation and reviews as part of Life Cycle Management and support, where needed, to the early development process and other artwork activities, namely related to artwork automation.


The role ensures the artworks are compliant with the artwork processes and technical and regulatory requirements. It provides operational oversight to enable efficient up- and downstream execution, reduce risk, and ensure executional alignment and standardization.


The position plays a key role in enabling timely artwork approval to support business needs.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage a team responsible for the artwork creation and reviews as part of Life Cycle Management (LCM). Support other artwork activities is expected, per business needs.
  • Ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and governance processes, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies where applicable and in conjunction with Early-Stage Development process and other business functions.
  • Provide Artwork (technical) support to the team.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within scope of work to optimize processes, reduce cycle times, and improve overall delivery performance (preferably through automation and usage of cutting-edge technology).
  • Oversee Amgen Artwork Automation process and support related activities.
  • Partner closely with Artwork Planning Team to ensure timelines are met.
  • Where needed, support the global team with executional work.
  • Collaborate with IS team to 1) establish inventory of software applications used by the artwork team, 2) manage procurement of licenses, 3) track IS systems issues and resolution and 4) anticipate on IS on upgrades and major initiatives to ensure artwork delivery is not negatively impacted.
  • Develop a pool of talent and provide coaching and opportunities for staff to grow.
  • Promote a culture of diversity, inclusion and belonging among staff, peers and stakeholders.
  • Encourage innovative mindset and enhance problem solving capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in design (or equivalent).
  • 6-10 years of work experience in artwork lifecycle management, packaging, or labelling operations within a regulated environment (preferably GMP).
  • 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in managing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in cross-functional collaboration across global teams.
  • Experience in leading projects in a matrix and international environment.
  • Experience with artwork automation (preferably automated artwork creation)
  • Proficiency with Adobe software (Illustrator / InDesign).
  • Familiar with artwork pre-press requirements.
  • Fluent in English, both in oral and written communication.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to labelling and packaging.
  • Experience driving operational excellence initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with artwork management systems and digital workflows.
  • Ability to meet strict timelines.
  • Ability to work in an intense and changing environment by establishing correct business priorities.
  • Able to follow through on tasks and motivate others to meet deadlines.
