Skills Required:


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Computer Science, Electronics, Aeronautical, Systems Engineering, or related discipline) with 8–15 years of experience in avionics systems engineering.
  • Strong experience in Systems Engineering throughout the complete product development lifecycle.
  • Expertise in Human Machine Interface (HMI/UI) design and development for Primary Flight Display (PFD), Navigation Display (ND), MAP functionality, and Flight Management Systems (FMS).
  • Good knowledge of SAE ARP4754A (System Development) and SAE ARP4761 (Safety Assessment Process).
  • Experience with TSO/ETSO, MOPS, and compliance/certification requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with system integration benches, hardware/software integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in Requirements Management, System Architecture, Configuration Management, and Change Control.
  • Extensive experience in System Integration, Integration Verification & Validation (IV&V), and system-level testing.
  • Working knowledge of avionics communication protocols including ARINC 429, ARINC 453, and ARINC 664 (AFDX).
  • Good understanding of ARINC 653 architecture and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
  • Familiarity with DO-178B/C and DO-254 development assurance standards.
  • Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Experience in requirements Allocation, decomposition, verification, validation, and traceability.
  • Experience in certification activities, regulatory compliance, and participation in internal and external audits.
  • Exposure to Avionics LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) architecture, system design, and development.
  • Basic understanding of Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) architecture and partitioned systems.
  • Knowledge of System Safety Assessment (SSA) processes, including hazard identification and hazard analysis.
  • Experience performing Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and reliability analysis.
  • Working knowledge of FAA/EASA certification processes and aircraft airworthiness regulations.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Avionics experience with one or more of the following systems: Display & Graphics, Primary Flight Display (PFD), Multi-Function Display (MFD), Navigation Display (ND), Moving Map, and Flight Management System (FMS).
  • Experience in System Architecture, System Design, Requirements Development, Verification, and Validation.
  • Perform System Requirements Validation with a focus on reliability, maintainability, testability, regulatory compliance, and certification.
  • Experience in the development and review of System Safety requirements within the aerospace domain.
  • Good understanding of System Safety Assessment (SSA) and Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA) for aircraft systems and functions in accordance with the ARP4761 process and methodology.
  • Understanding of Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes, Effects and Cause Analysis (FMECA), and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR) in accordance with ARP4761, ARP4754A, and MIL-STD-882.
  • Good understanding of certification activities, including Type Certification (TC) and Supplemental Type Certification (STC).
  • Understanding of Minimum Operational Performance Standards (MOPS) and associated compliance activities.
  • Strong understanding of system architectures with the ability to define and implement architecture-level changes.
  • Support planning, definition, and verification of System Safety requirements to ensure design integrity and certification compliance throughout the aircraft system/subsystem lifecycle.
  • Contribute to System Engineering processes, procedures, and work instructions to ensure system safety across all phases of the program lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with System Leaders and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure the safety of aircraft systems and subsystems.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, including requirement, design, development revisions, and engineering changes to formal Change Control Boards (CCB).
  • Participate in Safety Review Panels and coordinate with engineering disciplines and specialty engineering groups to define and validate safety requirements.
  • Review flight documentation, operational scenarios, and engineering changes to assess safety impacts.
  • Perform verification, testing, and validation to ensure system designs meet safety, operational, functional, and certification requirements.
  • Develop and support planning, implementation, and monitoring of Requirements Management, Risk Management, Issue Management, and Opportunity Management processes and tools.
