Your Impact:




The SAST Aviator team is building a suite of tools to help our clients leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to review, audit, and resolve vulnerabilities. You will be Lead Software Engineer on the team, and you will contribute to projects that aid in building these tools.  You will work with bright, motivated teammates to implement solutions to some of the toughest code analysis problems in the industry.

What the role offers:




  • Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet- related computer programs, primarily for end users.
  • Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications.
  • Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
  • May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
  • Develops product architectures and methodologies for software applications design and development across multiple platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit.
  • Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value; creates plans for integration and update into architecture.
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
  • Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members to set an example of software applications design and development innovation and excellence.

What you need to succeed:




  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in software development with a focus on backend systems.
  • Deep expertise in Core Java concepts, including Threads, Concurrency, Collections, and Exception Handling.
  • Strong backend development experience with proficiency in gRPC, Microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and JSON.
  • Proven track record in leading DevOps initiatives, including containerization using Docker and Kubernetes (with Helm Charts), and implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Jenkins.
  • Extensive knowledge of PostgreSQL and other structured databases, with strong data modelling and query optimization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the design and delivery of scalable and robust backend systems.
  • Passion for driving performance, scalability, and security best practices across distributed systems and microservices.
  • Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams to design solutions, perform code reviews, and deliver high-quality software.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, especially those related to concurrency, multithreading, and system performance.
  • Strong mentoring capabilities with a focus on uplifting junior engineers and promoting engineering excellence.
  • Proactive in staying up to date with emerging technologies and continuously driving innovation across the technology stack.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex architectures and design proposals to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have:




  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt and learn in the rapidly evolving fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and prompt engineering.
  • Solid experience in deploying and managing applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Proficient in Python scripting for automation, tooling, and backend development tasks.
  • Familiar with the Application Security (AppSec) domain, including secure coding practices and techniques for identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities.
  • Strong understanding of Static and Dynamic Application Security Testing (SAST & DAST), including the types of evidence gathered, their relevance to users, and how they are leveraged to assess product security.
  • Solid knowledge of Agile development methodologies, with experience working in distributed, global team environments.
  • A track record of innovation, with multiple patents or deployed solutions in software design preferred—but not required.
