Manager, Engineering – DE&AI

We have an opportunity for a Manager, Engineering to join our Data Engineering team reporting to the appropriate leadership. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of software and data engineers responsible for building scalable cloud services, API-driven platforms, self-serve data solutions, and AI-enabled capabilities that power customer-facing products and internal engineering efficiency. Collaborating closely with product, analytics, data science, and peer engineering teams, you will provide hands-on technical leadership across the data and application stack, guide the team from prototype to production, and help deliver high-impact, reliable, and secure solutions.

Be a Contributor — What You’ll Do

• Lead a team of software and data engineers through planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering initiatives
• Partner with product managers, analysts, data scientists, and peer engineering teams to gather requirements, define priorities, and build clear execution plans
• Design and oversee delivery of cloud-based applications, APIs, and data platforms using modern engineering best practices
• Build and scale production services, APIs, and self-serve data capabilities that support customer-facing products, analytics, operations, and AI-driven experiences
• Guide the team in turning prototypes and exploratory work into robust, production-ready solutions with strong code quality, testing, and observability
• Establish and champion best practices for architecture, code reviews, test automation, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response
• Promote practical use of AI-powered development tools and AI-assisted workflows to improve engineering productivity and code quality
• Use metrics, logging, and monitoring to identify and drive improvements in customer experience, scalability, reliability, efficiency, and cost
• Hire, coach, and develop a diverse, high-performing team, setting clear goals and providing actionable, growth-oriented feedback
• Create an environment where engineers can do their best work and contribute to technical strategy, roadmap, and cross-functional execution

Be Prepared — What You Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field
• 12 years of industry experience in software engineering, data engineering, or a related technical field, including substantial experience leading engineering teams
• Strong experience delivering reliable production software or cloud services in customer-facing environments, preferably on AWS
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or Scala
• Hands-on experience building and operating scalable cloud services, APIs, distributed systems, or self-serve data applications in production
• Solid grounding in software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, design patterns, code quality, and automated testing
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams across software engineering, data engineering, analytics, and data science
• Experience coaching engineers, managing performance, and building strong, inclusive teams that deliver high-quality results
• Strong customer orientation and ability to balance customer needs, operational excellence, short-term delivery, and long-term technical direction
• Familiarity with AI-enabled engineering workflows, ML-powered product capabilities, and AI-powered development tools for productivity and quality
