An Ideal Candidate:



An Ideal Candidate will be responsible for supporting assigned product development projects through mechanical design, engineering analysis, validation, and cross-functional collaboration. This role works closely with engineering, operations (including industrial engineering, production, and material procurement), sourcing, quality, service, product management, and marketing to develop robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective product solutions.




Key Competencies:



  • Designs, develops, validates, and supports the release of new products, systems, and component technologies for portable generators and portable battery power stations, with responsibility for technical execution from concept through production release.
  • Defines functional requirements and develops optimized engineering solutions through the design, integration, testing, and evaluation of components and systems, including assessment of performance, cost, reliability, risk, and safety.
  • Plans, executes, and evaluates fit-for-use testing and validation activities, and supports development of product specifications, validation plans, material specifications, and bills of materials.
  • Uses CAD and CAE tools to develop and analyze designs, create detailed engineering drawings and models, and assess mechanical system performance and improvement opportunities.
  • Partners cross-functionally with manufacturing, suppliers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability, support product development activities, and help achieve project targets related to performance, cost, schedule, and design requirements.
  • Develops risk assessments and DFMEA/FMEA documentation and provides recommendations during engineering design reviews.
  • Supports prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities, and drives corrective actions necessary to meet functional, performance, and safety requirements.
  • Investigates and resolves technical issues, collaborates with cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis, and escalates high-risk or high-impact issues appropriately to engineering leadership.
  • Travels to Generac facilities, suppliers, or test locations as required to support project and business needs. Travel may include domestic and limited international travel, as required.
