What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure: As an Equipment Automation Application Engineer at Siemens Smart Infrastructure, Buildings, you are the expert in HVAC equipment that knows how to apply the Siemens product range to deliver solutions to meet unique OEM customer needs. Working in a multi-functional sales and development environment, you are responsible to provide technical customer consulting and application support for the Siemens Climatix portfolio, to meet our business goals: generate growth, build dedicated customer solutions, and maximize return on investment. You will help drive the overall process for application specification and development to ensure our OEM partners receive the best solution for their market requirements. You will have the opportunity to work with leading Data Center OEMs across the world, developing solutions for cutting edge liquid cooling as well as air based solutions. This position is based in Chennai Responsibilities The individual in this role will be responsible for supporting our global application centers with specific development of equipment applications for datacenters. This will cover legacy air application such as CRAC, CRAH, FWU, and also strongly focus on new applications around liquid cooling technology. You will Work with Product Portfolio Manager in establishing market requirements for new product developments • Support OEM sales team as technical/application expert during customer meetings • Develop technical on-boarding plan for new customers, in support of proposal development • Use programming tools to translate customer equipment sequence of operations into application code • Work with test engineers to define test plans and validate application code • Train customers to enable customization of delivered applications • Work with both customer and internal groups in support of identifying and resolving field issues • Lead on-site implementation of Siemens product use within customer facilities • Work directly with engineering and product management in coordinating custom requests by customers • Conduct both customer and sales team trainings specific to product operation, feature/benefit, programming, installation, and troubleshooting • Stay abreast with the latest developments in Data Center Applications particularly around liquid cooling Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience • 5+ years of recent experience with HVAC equipment design and control programming, operation and troubleshooting. • Understanding related energy and industry-specific codes, laws and specifications. • Strong knowledge of Datacenter Cooling applications, specifically on CRAH; CRAC, CDU, Immersion cooling equipment but also Chiller and Cooling towers… • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent work experience • Up to 30% travel Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience • PLC programming (e.g.: FDB, ST) • MATLAB, LabVIEW • Understanding HTML5, Angular and similar frameworks • Python • Climatix Sapro or Automation (not mandatory but would be a plus) This role is based in Chennai,, where you’ll get the chance to work with teams impacting entire cities, countries – and the shape of things to come.
