JOB TITLE: Principal Engineer – Civil & Structural
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Scope of Responsibilities
·Developing an Architectural deliverable in the Oil and Gas industry such as conceptual design and regulatory compliance to multi-disciplinary coordination and construction administration, ensuring all infrastructure integrates seamlessly with complex industrial facilities.
2. Primary Duties
·Preparing the Architectural Basis of Design (BOD), material specifications, and technical reports.
·Designing layouts for Process building such as Control building, substations, LER/LCS buildings etc in compliance with international building codes and Client specifications.
·Designing layouts for Non-Process building such as Administrative complexes, Medical building, Fire station, Guard house, Mosque etc in compliance with international building codes and Client specifications.
·Designing Hybrid buildings such as Warehouse, Workshop etc in compliance with international building codes and Client specifications.
·Designing conceptual layouts for shelters.
·Designing the buildings for the required Architectural materials, finishes and building standards as applicable.
·Coordination with Civil & Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecom, HVAC, HSE, Water supply and drainage teams.
·Managing and delivering multiple projects simultaneously and issuing the deliverables as per project schedule.
·Ensuring designs meet rigorous Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards and Human Factors Engineering (HFE) principles.
·Collaborating with structural engineers to plan blast-resistant structures, fire-rated performance criteria and hazardous-area constraints.
·3D Modeling: Utilizing programs like Revit or AutoCAD to create detailed clash-free models and coordinate with EIT, HVAC, HSE, Piping and UG system.
·Actively engaging in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies and design reviews to minimize risk to on-site personnel.
·Creating Material Take-Offs (MTOS), Bills of Quantities (BOQS), and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) for architectural materials and vendors.
·Providing on-site technical support, answering site queries, and preparing punch lists for project closeout.
3. Job / Cost Impact
·Leads the activities in converting the project from concept to detailed engineering. Works within Project Budget requirements. Serves as the tie-in in the department team for inter-discipline engineering concerned with the project. Accountable for overall discipline related activities for the successful completion of project within allotted schedule, manpower and costs
4. Decision Making Authority
·Decisions limited to the scope of project requirement specifications, Consults with Lead Engineer on main issues which may affect layout and specifications. May make recommendations on mobilization/demobilization of personnel.
5. Supervisory Responsibility
·Directs the resource allocation and workloads of a team of subordinates.
·Typically leading a group of technical staff.
