KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Process Engineer to lead and execute Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Engineering (DE) for new and revamp projects in petrochemical facilities. The candidate will have strong experience in both open-art and licensed process units such as olefins (steam cracking), aromatics (BTX), polymer units including LDPE, HDPE, polypropylene (PP), and butene/butene derivatives, along with hydrogen management systems, utilities, and tankage. The role involves close coordination with multidisciplinary teams, technology licensors, and EPC contractors to ensure technical integrity, compliance with project specifications, adherence to schedules, and timely delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate FEED and Detailed Engineering activities for open‑art units as well as licensed units.
  • Liaise with technology licensors, EPC contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of project scope and technical specifications.
  • Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, HMBs, and material selection diagrams.
  • Support HAZID/HAZOP, SIL, and other risk assessments throughout the engineering phases.
  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables including data sheets, technical specifications, design calculations, and layout drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications (e.g., API, ASME, NFPA).
  • Provide input for cost estimation, procurement strategies, and long-lead item identification.
  • Monitor engineering progress against project milestones and intervene as necessary to resolve issues.
  • Participate in design reviews, model reviews (3D), and constructability assessments.
  • Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning.
  • Proven track record in FEED and DE phases for large-scale petrochemical projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.
  • 15–20 years of relevant experience, with at least 5-8 years in petrochemical units.
  • Familiarity with leading licensors and their design packages.
  • Strong knowledge of process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
  • Effective communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate as per project requirements.
