Project Procurement Manager (Smart Infrastructure) Location: Gurugram Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Procurement Manager to lead and manage all procurement activities for our medium voltage Substation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategically sourcing, negotiating, and managing the supply of critical electrical equipment and components, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of the electrical equipment industry, particularly in medium voltage applications, and a proven track record in managing major commodities. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management: Develop and implement procurement strategies for project-specific materials and services, focusing on major commodities such as Transformers, Cables, LT Panels, and other medium voltage equipment. Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers, ensuring they meet technical, quality, and commercial requirements. Manage and nurture relationships with key suppliers, establishing long-term partnerships and driving continuous improvement. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions as needed. Negotiation & Contract Management: Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to secure the best possible terms, pricing, and delivery schedules. Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal, company, and project-specific requirements. Mitigate procurement-related risks through effective contract management and proactive risk assessment. Cost Management & Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and value engineering in procurement processes and material selection. Analyze market trends and commodity prices to make informed purchasing decisions. Develop and maintain procurement budgets for projects, tracking expenditures and reporting variances. Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and relevant industry regulations. Work with quality assurance teams to ensure procured materials meet specified quality standards and technical requirements. Team Collaboration & Leadership: Provide guidance and support to junior procurement staff or project teams on procurement best practices. Act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Required Qualifications: Education: Graduate Engineer in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering. Experience: 14 to 18 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain management, or project management roles within the electrical equipment industry. Industry Expertise: Demonstrated experience in the medium voltage segment is essential. Extensive exposure to major electrical commodities, including but not limited to: Transformers (Power, Distribution, Instrument) Cables (MV, HV, Control, Instrumentation) LT Panels (Low Tension Panels, Switchgear) Circuit Breakers, Relays, Insulators, etc. Skills & Competencies: Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. Strong leadership capabilities and a results-oriented mindset.
