About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated Purchasing Specialist to manage the sourcing and procurement of welded fabrications, machined components, and related manufacturing services. This role will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, driving cost optimization initiatives, and ensuring uninterrupted supply to support business and operational objectives.The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure suppliers meet quality, cost, delivery, and technical requirements while supporting new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for welded and machined parts categories.
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers to meet business requirements.
- Lead RFQ processes, commercial negotiations, and supplier contract management.
- Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and localization initiatives.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans related to quality, delivery, and cost.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production requirements, engineering changes, and new product introductions.
- Analyze market trends, raw material movements, and supply risks to support sourcing decisions.
- Ensure timely purchase order placement, delivery follow-up, and issue resolution.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and maintain continuity of supply for critical components.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 5–8 years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience sourcing welded fabrications, precision machined components, sheet metal parts, castings, or forgings.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier relationship management skills.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in industrial manufacturing, automotive, heavy equipment, or OEM environments.
- Knowledge of welding, machining, fabrication processes, GD&T, and manufacturing cost drivers.
- Experience with supplier development, strategic sourcing, and cost management initiatives.
- Professional procurement certifications (CIPS, CPSM, APICS, or equivalent) are an advantage.
