Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer who specializes in Playwright-based testing and Java. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks for web applications, validating end-to-end functionality across UI, backend, data outputs, and integrations. The ideal candidate will collaborate with product, development, QA, and operations teams to drive testing strategy, ensure quality, enable efficient CI/CD, and support a fast-moving, data-driven enterprise environment.

Required Skills (Essential)
Proficiency in Playwright for automated testing of web applications, using JavaScript/TypeScript
Strong experience with Java to support test automation integration and data-layer validations
Solid experience in UI testing and functional testing across multi-component systems
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks
Familiarity with API testing (REST/GraphQL) and validation approaches
Proficiency in CI/CD integration of tests (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Bitbucket Pipelines)
Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
Experience with test management/defect tracking tools (JIRA, HP ALM, or equivalents)
Knowledge of SDLC/Agile methodologies and participation in cross-functional ceremonies
Proficiency in version control systems (Git) and basic data/test data management
Preferred Skills
Experience with Cypress or other modern QA automation tools
Knowledge of performance testing basics and related tooling
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)

Overall Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Playwright-based automated test scripts and frameworks for web applications
Define test strategies, test plans, data strategies, and execution governance for QA activities
Validate UI, API, and end-to-end workflows, ensuring data integrity and correct integration across components
Collaborate with product managers, developers, QA, and operations to ensure test coverage aligns with business requirements
Execute functional, regression, integration, SIT, and UAT testing; manage defects and retesting
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable releases
Maintain and update test documentation, traceability matrices, and reports
Mentor junior QA engineers and promote best practices in automation and testing
Stay current with testing tools and industry best practices; drive continuous improvement in QA capabilities
Support environment readiness and testing in collaboration with release management

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
5+ years of hands-on QA/Automation experience with Playwright and Java
Certifications in QA/Automation or cloud platforms are advantageous
