Key job responsibilities
- Assist in the integration and optimization of Dolby Vision technology for embedded display systems, focusing on color accuracy and dynamic tone mapping.
- Support the implementation of HDMI 2.1b standards, ensuring compliance and robust integration in our products.
- Collaborate with the SoC team to optimize the display pipeline and enable support for new display features.
- Develop and maintain display drivers and software for Linux-based embedded systems.
- Contribute to panel integration efforts, including bring-up and optimization for MIPI-DSI and HDMI interfaces.
- Assist in debugging and resolving display-related issues across various embedded devices and platforms.
- Utilize Yocto to create and maintain custom Linux distributions for display-centric devices.
- Implement and optimize display drivers within the Linux kernel, with a focus on DRM/KMS subsystems.
- Use Gerrit for code reviews and GitLab for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyze and help resolve signal integrity issues in high-speed display interfaces under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Contribute to the development of display-related documentation and specifications.
- Participate in open-source display driver development and engage with the Linux community.
- Continuously learn and stay updated on emerging display technologies and Linux kernel developments.

- Ensuring compatibility between SoC display interfaces and various panels
- Optimizing power consumption for different display configurations
- Contributing to the company's proprietary display subsystems

- 5+ years of embedded firmware development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience in embedded development in C/C++
- Strong experience with V4L2 Memory-to-Memory (V4L2M2M) driver development for video codec implementations
- Proven track record in video decoder and encoder driver development for both legacy codecs (H.264, H.265, VP9, MPEG-2/4) and advanced codecs (AV1, VVC)
- Hands-on experience with 4K video processing and high-resolution video pipeline optimization
- Proficiency in Linux kernel driver development and multimedia subsystem architecture
- Experience with video codec validation frameworks and conformance testing tools such as Fluster
- Strong understanding of V4L2 framework, Media Controller API, and video buffer management
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Pre-Silicon and SoC Bringup
- Experience with pre-silicon validation methodologies and early hardware bring-up processes
- Proven ability to work with SoC bringup activities including driver integration during early silicon phases
- Familiarity with hardware emulation platforms and FPGA-based validation environments
- Security and Protected Content
- Knowledge of secure video path implementation and content protection mechanisms
- Experience with DRM (Digital Rights Management) integration for protected video playback
- Understanding of TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) integration for secure video processing
- Additional Technical Skills
- Experience with GStreamer, FFmpeg, or similar multimedia frameworks
- Knowledge of video codec specifications and bitstream analysis
- Familiarity with performance profiling and optimization techniques for video pipelines
- Experience with continuous integration and automated testing frameworks
- Understanding of power management and thermal optimization for video workloads
