Job Description
Search Performance Specialist
(Technical SEO, GEO and website optimisation)
Location: Bangalore, hybrid
Function: Marketing & Communications [Digital growth]
Reporting to: School Website Optimisation Manager
Start date: No later than 7 September 2026
Role overview
The Search Performance Specialist supports the next phase of the School Website Enrolment Project (SWEP), the shared digital system that brings International Schools Partnership schools into one high-performing website ecosystem shaped to drive enrolment growth.
This role helps keep ISP’s corporate website and school website estate technically healthy, visible, trackable and ready to perform across Google, local search, AI-powered answer platforms and emerging search environments. It supports a growing global estate of 120+ schools across more than 25 countries, where families, staff, partners and external stakeholders need to find clear, accurate and compelling information at the right moment.
The role is hands-on and growth-focused. It protects the technical foundations of the estate while helping turn search insight into practical action across site health, SEO/GEO readiness, local discoverability, tracking confidence, on-page optimisation and content performance.
This is an opportunity to work at scale across a growing international education group, helping schools become easier to find, easier to understand and better placed to convert interest into meaningful enrolment demand.
Key responsibilities
The responsibilities and role scope will evolve, but the initial focus will be on technical health, search visibility, GEO readiness, local discoverability, tracking confidence and growth activation.
Corporate and school website performance
Support search performance across ISP’s corporate website and school website estate, ensuring global and local digital touchpoints are technically strong, search-ready and aligned to enrolment growth.
Help ensure the corporate website performs as a clear global endorser-brand platform, while school websites remain locally relevant, discoverable and conversion-ready for families in each market.
Identify issues that may affect visibility, trust, usability or growth performance across the estate, including metadata, schema, page structure, internal linking, tracking, content implementation and technical SEO.
Technical health and release quality
Conduct regular technical SEO audits across assigned websites, identifying and resolving issues related to crawlability, indexation, redirects, canonical tags, broken links, sitemap.xml, robots.txt, structured data, mobile usability, page speed and Core Web Vitals.
Maintain technical SEO trackers and implementation logs so issues, fixes, owners, timelines and dependencies are visible.
Support release QA and post-launch checks so new pages, content updates, technical changes and website releases do not weaken search visibility, tracking quality or site performance.
Search visibility and GEO readiness
Use Google Search Console, GA4, crawl tools and approved dashboards to identify visibility gaps, keyword movement, indexing issues, high-opportunity pages and search trends requiring action.
Support implementation of metadata, internal linking, keyword, page structure and content optimisation recommendations so websites are more visible for relevant, high-intent searches.
Review pages for machine-readable structure, clear metadata, schema, FAQs, entity clarity and answer-led formatting, helping ISP remain visible across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and other AI-powered search environments.
Local search and Google Business Profile
Support Google Business Profile and local SEO optimisation across assigned schools, including school names, addresses, phone numbers, categories, URLs, descriptions, photos and consistency of local information.
Identify gaps between how schools are positioned on their websites and how they appear in Google Maps, local search and AI-assisted local discovery.
Support UTM tracking, local listing hygiene and practical visibility improvements that strengthen school discoverability in each market.
Tracking confidence and data quality
Conduct routine checks to ensure forms, thank-you pages, GA4 events, GTM tags, HubSpot tracking and key conversion points are functioning correctly.
Escalate tracking issues or anomalies to the relevant owner and support resolution from the website implementation side.
Help protect reporting confidence by ensuring local or agency changes do not break conversion tracking, duplicate events, breach consent requirements or weaken dashboard reliability.
Growth activation and continuous improvement
Turn search, site health and tracking insight into practical recommendations that support stronger visibility, content performance and top-of-funnel demand.
Work with content, analytics, regional/school marketing and agencies to ensure optimisation activity supports families’ search behaviour and the enrolment journey.
Help maintain reusable SEO/GEO checklists, QA templates, trackers and documentation so good practice can be scaled across schools and regions.
Stay up to date with technical SEO, local SEO, GEO, AI search, analytics and website optimisation developments, recommending improvements that strengthen visibility and growth.
Ad hoc: Support additional projects, analyses, and responsibilities assigned by SWOM in line with evolving business requirements.
KPIs
Success in this role will be measured through contribution to organic enrolment demand:
Improved visibility for high-intent, non-brand and local school search terms across Google, local search and AI-powered search environments.
Increased organic contribution to key enquiry journeys, measured through HubSpot thank-you page visits, organic conversions and engagement signals.
Search visibility actions identified and progressed from Google Search Console, crawl data, keyword tracking and dashboard insight.
Technical site health maintained across assigned corporate and school websites, with crawlability, indexation, redirects, schema, Core Web Vitals and release QA managed to agreed standards.
SEO/GEO QA completed for new, updated and migrated pages, ensuring pages are searchable, AI-readable, locally relevant and aligned to the enrolment journey.
Google Business Profile and local SEO checks completed for assigned schools, with category, description, URL, photo, UTM and school information gaps corrected or escalated.
Tracking confidence protected across forms, thank-you pages, GA4 events, GTM tags and HubSpot tracking, with errors, duplicated events or consent risks escalated quickly.
Clear reporting logged on monday.com on completed actions, risks, blockers, upcoming priorities and growth opportunities.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related disciplines.
4–6 years’ experience in technical SEO, search performance or website optimisation, ideally across multi-site or international websites.
Strong hands-on technical SEO skills, including crawlability, indexation, redirects, metadata, structured data, Core Web Vitals and site audits.
Confident using Google Search Console, GA4, Google Tag Manager and Looker Studio, with relevant Google certifications required.
Experience with SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush, Lighthouse or similar.
Good understanding of on-page SEO, local SEO, Google Business Profile and how search supports enquiry generation.
Awareness of GEO, AI search, schema, FAQs and structured content is desirable.
Able to turn data and technical findings into clear, practical actions.
Strong attention to detail, communication skills and ability to work across content, development, analytics and marketing teams.
