The Role


As a Senior Electrical Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.


Primary objective


To ensure Health, Safety and Environment has the highest priority in all activities undertaken by Discipline Engineering and Design personnel assigned to the task force.


To delegate and supervise the work of the discipline engineers and designers.


Maintain productivity and technical integrity for the discipline project deliverables.


To advise Department Manager in advance on engineering resources requirement in order to complete all deliverables for the discipline within the allocated staff hour budget and schedule.


Specific Accountabilities


  • Monitor own progress and ensure it comes within project schedule.
  • To provide all necessary input to the project control and reporting system, including attending review meetings, maintaining the progress report on weekly basis for the discipline, liaising with the project planning engineer for productivity, discipline progress planning, and preparing the discipline section of the monthly report.
  • Preparation of list of deliverables for the new projects.
  • Update PM/PEM with weekly report on the work executed, work planned for next week and constraints.
  • To prepare the discipline Project Design Criteria in accordance with tender scope of work and latest international recommended practises and standards prior to the commencement of any engineering or design activities.
  • To supervise the discipline design group by close liaison with the lead designer in order to develop practical and economic designs to achieve the project objectives.
  • To arrange for the preparation of all discipline design deliverables including philosophies, narratives, operating manuals, specifications, data sheets, calculations requisitions, and technical tender evaluations, layout drawings, detail drawings, schedules, in accordance with the project requirements and the company procedures and standards.
  • Preparation of material requisition (Requisition For Quotation), Technical bid evaluation, Vendor drawing review.
  • To specify and select appropriate equipment to allow the project to develop a practical and economic design.
  • To ensure that discipline activities are being executed as per budgeted man-hours.
  • To estimate time and resources requirement for engineering activities in cooperation with Lead Discipline Engineer.
  • To ensure technical integrity of design deliverables for the discipline.
  • To ensure that all document checking and design verification tasks have been completed in accordance with the Company and project procedures before formal document issue.
  • To review and comment the design documentation prepared by the discipline.
  • To ensure conformance with customer requirement.
  • To liaise with other design groups, and to co-ordinate the discipline activities with the other groups to achieve the overall project design objectives in the most efficient manner.
  • To provide discipline input to the project key documentation during squad checking, or by the issue of key documentation change requests immediately the discipline activities create or identify the need for a change to those documents.
  • To foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Review of key documents.
  • Preparation of man hour estimate and list of deliverables for the new proposals.
  • Maintaining the client’s / other discipline comments on the deliverables.
  • Regular interaction with all members of group, provide guidance and monitor correctness and progress of the assigned jobs.
  • To review of other discipline / Vendor engineering documents/drawing.
  • Supervise and ensure proper maintenance of Record prints, Check prints, Commented prints and relevant data sheets / drawings from other discipline.
  • To coordinate with project engineer / manager in project close out.
  • Adherence to Quality Assurance system, applicable procedures, Design basis, Applicable design guides / Standards / Specifications as applicable.

Safety 


  • Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the CSG, etc. 
  • Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

About You 


To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:


  • Degree in Electrical engineering (B.E. or B. Tech).
  • 15 years + plus design experience within the hydrocarbons.
  • Familiarity with national and international standards such as IS, IEC, BS, OISD,  IE Rules.
  • Experience in use of electrical system software such as EDSA, ETAP.
  • Very well conversant with electrical equipment sizing and calculations, procurement engineering (Spec., datasheet, MR, TBE, VDR), Layout engineering (power, earthing, lighting, MTO) and schedules (cable, LCS, load, termination schedules etc).
