Job Profile For our Industry Field Customer Support team, we are looking for a Service Engineer – CNC, Drives, Robots & Safety Systems (Competition Platforms) for deployment at customer manufacturing sites operating in 24×7 production mode in the India-North region. This is a client on-site, shift-wise rotational (24×7) operational role, primarily responsible for support, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance of competition CNC systems, drive systems, industrial robots, and related safety control systems. Exposure to retrofit, modernization, and migration projects is desirable, but such activities are occasional and project-based, and not part of routine shift operations. Job Responsibilities Perform client on-site, 24×7 rotational shift-wise support for CNC systems, drives, robots, and associated safety systems. Attend production-critical breakdowns within defined SLA, diagnose faults, and restore equipment availability safely. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain CNC systems such as: Beckhoff TwinCAT CNC ABB CNC Rexroth CNC Fanuc CNC etc. Perform diagnostics, tuning, and maintenance of drive systems from: SEW ABB Rexroth Fuji Electric Emerson Allen-Bradley and similar OEMs. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and support industrial robots including ABB, KUKA, and Fanuc, covering controller alarms, axis faults, and drive-robot interface issues. Support Safety PLC-based systems by diagnosing: Safety faults Safety I/O errors Interlocks Emergency stop (E-stop) circuits Light curtains Safety scanners Safety relays Coordinate CNC/Drive/Robot interaction with Safety PLCs, ensuring safe restart and recovery after faults. Execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities, including safety function checks as per site procedures. Maintain machine logbooks, safety fault records, diagnostic reports, and system backups. Provide basic technical guidance and safety-aware troubleshooting support to customer maintenance personnel. Support retrofit, modernization, and controller migration activities during planned shutdowns or special projects. Ensure strict adherence to functional safety practices, site safety rules, and EHS standards during all activities. Qualification Required Qualification & Skill Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering. 3–8 years of hands-on experience in CNC, drives, robots, and maintenance of automated machinery. Strong exposure to competition CNC platforms, including: Beckhoff ABB Rexroth Fanuc Hands-on experience with multi-OEM drive systems, including: SEW ABB Rexroth Allen-Bradley etc. Experience working with industrial robots (ABB, KUKA, or Fanuc preferred). Working knowledge of Safety PLC concepts and integration, including: Safety I/O modules Emergency stop systems Safety scanners Light curtains Door interlocks Safe communication between CNC, drives, robots, and safety controllers Ability to interpret electrical drawings, safety circuits, CNC parameters, and robot diagnostics. Willingness to work 24×7 rotational shifts at customer sites. Strong troubleshooting, reporting, and customer-interaction skills. Knowledge of Siemens SINUMERIK , SINAMICS , or Safety PLC (F-systems) will be an added advantage. Preferred (Good to Have) OEM training/certification from ABB, KUKA, Beckhoff, or SEW. Exposure to Siemens Safety PLC (S7-F), PROFIsafe , and Safe Torque Off (STO) concepts. Experience in forging, machining, steel, rolling, furnace, or railway manufacturing plants.
