Service Managers in L&T Construction & Mining Machinery typically balance technical service leadership with customer relationship management, often tasked with new business development expanding into sales strategy, market expansion, and revenue generation.  


What you’ll be doing


Service Operations


  • Lead service teams to deliver maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) for construction & mining machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Monitor KPIs such as equipment uptime, turnaround time, and service profitability.

? Customer Relationship Management


  • Act as the primary escalation point for key accounts.
  • Provide technical consultancy for fleet optimization and productivity improvement.
  • Build long-term partnerships through proactive engagement and tailored service solutions.

? New Business Development


  • Identify and pursue opportunities for service contracts (AMC, extended warranties, digital monitoring).
  • Collaborate with sales teams to cross-sell parts, consumables, and training programs.
  • Develop new revenue streams via predictive maintenance, IoT-based monitoring, and digital service platforms.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify emerging customer needs and competitive positioning.

? Strategic & Financial


  • Prepare service budgets and forecasts aligned with business growth targets.
  • Support tender processes with technical inputs and service solutions.
  • Drive aftermarket revenue growth through innovative service offerings.

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us


  • Diploma in Mechanical, electrical, automobile with 15-23 years’ experience in similar earthmoving industry
  • Strong technical expertise in heavy equipment service (construction & mining machinery).
  • Proven track record in business development or aftermarket sales.
  • Customer-centric mindset with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage P&L responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with digital service tools (telematics, predictive analytics).
