Job Summary
Iron Mountain is seeking a skilled Shift Engineer to join our Data Center Operations team.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising shift operations and maintenance to ensure 100% equipment availability, strict uptime, and seamless facility safety across our critical infrastructure. You will work closely with a dedicated team of facilities engineers and operations leaders committed to maintaining world-class data center standards and reliability.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Lead Shift Operations & Asset Management: Plan, organize, and execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities (including High Tension/Low Tension Electrical systems, Diesel Generators, Fire Alarms, and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) to maintain maximum equipment availability, prevent downtime, and complete Root Cause Analysis for operational incidents.
Collaborate with Stakeholders & Vendors: Work closely with Customer Engineering teams, Original Equipment Manufacturers, and external vendors to track complaints within agreed Turnaround Times and Service Level Agreements, coordinate emergency responses, and address customer queries promptly.
Ensure Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Maintain 100% adherence to physical security processes, organizational safety standards, and government regulations while preparing risk assessments, standard operating procedures, and conducting regular audits.
What You’ll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
6–10 years of experience in data center operations and critical facility infrastructure management.
Strong knowledge of critical systems including High Tension/Low Tension Electrical, Diesel Generators, Fire Suppression, Building Management Systems, Access Control, and capacity management.
Proven ability in incident management, vendor management, root cause analysis, shift planning, and maintaining strict SLA and compliance standards.
Minimum Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
