SO_IT Operation Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:

The objective of this role is to manage the onboarding of Windows on-premises infrastructure into enterprise operations by ensuring accurate configuration, CMDB compliance, automation of onboarding activities, documentation and seamless integration with ITSM and monitoring platforms. The role requires strong technical expertise in Windows Server administration, scripting, database management and IT service management processes to deliver standardized, efficient and compliant onboarding services.

Windows Server Onboarding

Perform onboarding of Windows servers into enterprise infrastructure management platforms. Ensure servers comply with organizational standards, security baselines, monitoring, backup, patching and operational requirements. Validate server configurations before production onboarding.

Automation & Scripting

Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Batch scripting, and other scripting technologies to streamline onboarding activities. Automate repetitive operational tasks to improve efficiency, consistency and reduce manual effort.

Configuration & CMDB Management

Maintain accurate Configuration Management Database (CMDB) records. Ensure configuration items (CIs) are created, updated and maintained in accordance with ITIL standards. Perform periodic audits to ensure CMDB data accuracy and compliance.

Database Support

Work with MS-SQL Server and Oracle databases to validate application dependencies, execute basic queries, generate reports, and support onboarding activities requiring database integration.

ITSM & Ticket Management

Manage onboarding requests through ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow and T&R. Coordinate with multiple support team for Technical and process related topics.

Documentation & Process Governance

Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), onboarding documentation, knowledge articles and technical runbooks. Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to operational excellence initiatives.

Stakeholder & Project Coordination

Collaborate with infrastructure, application, database, security, and network teams to ensure successful onboarding of Windows environments. Participate in Onboard planning, status reporting, risk identification and escalation management.

Educational qualification:

·       Bachelor’s degree. Preferred computer science/IT graduates

Experience:

2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Windows Server Administration or Infrastructure Operations. Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022/2025) administration.

• Experience in Windows Server onboarding, infrastructure provisioning or platform support.  Knowledge of scheduled tasks, remote execution and scripting best practices.

  
  

• Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Windows Services, and server hardening.

  
  

• Experience working with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow and T&R.

  
  

• Experience in enterprise infrastructure environments supporting large-scale Windows server deployments.

  
  

• Exposure to automation and scripting for infrastructure operations.

  
  

Preferred Skills:
