Job Summary:
The Logistics Executive will be responsible for managing and optimizing the logistics and distribution operations to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of products. The role involves coordinating with internal teams, external vendors, and transportation partners to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Planning & Execution:
Plan and oversee the transportation and distribution of goods to ensure on-time delivery.
Optimize logistics processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Vendor & Partner Management:
Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, transporters, and warehouses.
Negotiate contracts and rates with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and ensure alignment with demand forecasts.
Ensure proper storage and handling of goods to minimize damage and losses.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to transportation and logistics.
Maintain accurate documentation for shipments, invoices, and delivery records.
Performance Monitoring:
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery timelines, cost per unit, and transportation efficiency.
Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with sales, procurement, and production teams to align logistics operations with business needs.
Resolve any issues related to delays, damages, or discrepancies in shipments.
Technology Utilization:
Use logistics management software and tools to streamline operations and improve visibility across the supply chain.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
Attributes:
