KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for Lead Offshore Structural Designer / Checker to support a Major Offshore Oil & Gas Development Project involving FPSO facilities, jacket platforms, topside modules, living quarters, and fixed offshore installations. The project includes execution of Detailed Engineering phases under complex marine environmental conditions, requiring advanced 3D modelling integration, multidisciplinary coordination, strict offshore compliance standards, and delivery within fast-track schedules across global execution centres.
Forecasts, controls, and reports project costs needed within an organization. Develops and provides project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, and completion reports. Reviews project costs incurred by category, calculates future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates and risk analysis. Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices in project controls. Uses experience and problem solving skills to develop and improve processes. Will provide oversight and guidance to less experienced team members.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the analysis of project cost spending trends vs budget vs forecast.
Develop, implement and maintain project cost control tools used to track cost, commitments, revenues, forecast, budgets, change management, progress measurement, etc.
Prepare project cash flow forecasts in coordination with the accounting counterparts.
Able to manage and validate project cost components based on contract terms that vary between projects.
Implement effective change management processes, procedures and systems in collaboration with project teams.
Knowledge of earned value (EV) management principles and methods. Implement and maintain an EV process on projects.
Facilitate project cost and performance reviews with project teams and clients.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in related Business, Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
10 to 15 years of project cost controls experience required.
Must be experienced in utilizing cost systems to manage cost performance on a portfolio of several projects concurrently.
Strong business and analytical acumen.
Advanced interpersonal and communication skills to achieve results in an interdisciplinary work environment.
Proficiency in SAP PS cost system preferred.
Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft office products.
Knowledge of SAP WBS structures preferred.
Self starter who can take a leadership role in ensuring that an effective cost controls process is implemented and maintained across a portfolio of projects.
Knowledge of cost controls related with home office engineering work.
Knowledge of cost controls related with field maintenance and construction work performed in process plants.
