Position: System Administrator III



Department: IT – Application Administration
Location: Bangalore



Position Overview



We are looking for a System Administrator to join the Application Administration team. The primary responsibility of this role is to support, maintain, and administer business-critical applications and their underlying infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have strong SQL/database administration skills, experience troubleshooting Windows-based application environments, and the ability to work across multiple technologies to resolve production issues.



While exposure to cloud technologies is beneficial, the primary focus of this role is application administration, operational support, automation, and ensuring application availability.



Key Responsibilities



  • Administer and support business-critical applications in production environments.
  • Deploy application releases and perform post-deployment validation.
  • Troubleshoot application, SQL, IIS, and Windows-related issues.
  • Perform SQL Server administration, including query execution, troubleshooting, backups, restores, and performance analysis.
  • Manage Windows Server components including IIS, services, certificates, DNS, and Active Directory.
  • Investigate and resolve production incidents within SLA.
  • Review, update, and improve operational documentation and SOPs.
  • Configure and maintain monitoring and alerting for applications.
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities.
  • Work with development, infrastructure, database, and security teams to resolve issues.
  • Participate in shift, standby, and weekend support as required.

Must-Have Skills



  • Strong Windows Server administration experience.
  • Good SQL Server administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications in production.
  • IIS/Web Server administration.
  • Active Directory administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Experience with deployment and release activities.
  • Familiarity with incident, problem, and change management.
  • Ability to write basic PowerShell or SQL scripts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, and customer-focused mindset.

Good-to-Have Skills



  • Microsoft Azure fundamentals.
  • VMware/vCenter administration.
  • Oracle Database administration.
  • Citrix administration and troubleshooting.
  • Kubernetes/OpenShift exposure.
  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, VPN, IPSEC, SMTP, SFTP).
  • Monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, etc.
  • Security and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with automation and scripting.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.

Azure, VMware, SQL, or Security certifications.
