Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Telecom - Consultant - Offshore with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas sector for Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

The Role

• Have a sound knowledge of International Codes & Standards and General Telecom Engineering including Design. Shall be able to carry out all aspects of Telecom Engineering including Design to a high standard from first principles using client standards, international standards and in line with Project requirements confirming to safety and quality control within the man-hour budget and the project schedule targets. 
• Be able to check the quality of work carried out by the engineers & designers. Should be able to Lead project execution. Should have strong Revamp / modification project execution experience both with respect to Telecom Field equipment & control room systems (Both Onshore & Offshore). Shall be capable of handling Project Telecom FEED, Detail Engineering, PMC activities for Oil & Gas, offshore and petrochemical plants. Experience in handling both local and international projects

Responsibilities:

The key objectives for this role are:

• Responsible for Preparation, checking and approval of the following project deliverables/ activities by leading and guiding a team of engineers & designers. 
  • Telecom Design Basis/Philosophy/data sheets/ specifications/ Scope of Work Document for all telecom equipment and system
  • Technical Specifications for Telecom Systems covering Telephone, PABX, CCTV, PAGA, Microwave Radio, VSAT, UHF, Aeronautical System, Access Control, Modem, LAN and Fiber Optic Cables, ship-shore communications, weather monitoring communications, IDS, GMDSS (Life Saver) system
• Telecommunication system Engineering, Design and procurement.
• Coordinate with design team for Preparation of Design Deliverables: Telecom Schematics/ Equipment Layout/ Cable Routing Layouts/Cable Schedule/3D modeling
• Provide engineering support for construction, commissioning, and operation team
• Interdisciplinary/ Vendor/ client/ interoffice coordination for successful project executions.
• Involved in end-to-end implementation of projects including setting up of LAN, WAN & Router Network with the Co-ordination with different Vendors.
• Site visit and site team management at different locations. 
• Revamp & Green Field Onshore and Offshore projects.
• Telecommunications proposal/ Manhour estimates for Revamp and Green Field including Telecom systems.

Qualifications:

• B.E; / BTech with minimum 25 years of Telecom experience in Oil & Gas, Offshore, Petrochemical Industries with at least 10 years of working as Telecom Lead.
• Network certification/ Video Expert Certification/ RADIO certifications
• RADIO, PAGA, CCTV, Wireless coverage software / Access control software
