Job description

Grounded in a talent-centric mindset, Maker Lab is a marketing agency designed to build decentralised technology-led agency teams, rooted in collaboration with clients from the ground up.
Maker Lab’s cross-functional teams of multidisciplinary specialists are embedded into client teams across digital marketing competencies — from measurement & analytics to content production.
Role Summary: Maker Lab supports clients across technology, entertainment, financial services and the payments industry.
We’re looking for dynamic individuals to join our team and support our amazing clients in the industry.
We are looking for a seasoned UX Researcher to drive foundational and generative research across the APAC region, shaping product strategy.
Bridging human behaviour and AI development, you will partner to translate complex user needs into actionable insights for voice-first experiences and localised tools.
Role: Strategic Partnership: Partner directly with the Lead to align regional research objectives with broader marketing and product goals, ensuring every project integrates seamlessly into the overarching APAC research program.
End-to-End Project Execution: Lead the full lifecycle of 2–3 foundational research projects per quarter across key APAC markets (JP, IN, KR)—independently managing everything from participant recruitment and moderation to final data synthesis.
High-Impact Stakeholder Reporting: Collaboratively prepare and package comprehensive research findings alongside the Lead to be shared with Marketing leadership, clearly identifying key tactical takeaways and strategic product pivots.
Operational & Vendor Management: Oversee end-to-end research logistics and vendor relationships under the guidance of the Lead, ensuring strict compliance with internal data privacy regulations and rigorous research standards.
You: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in UX research with deep proficiency in executing qualitative research methods (including contextual inquiry, 1:1 behavioral interviews, and concept testing) paired with a strong foundational grasp of quantitative principles (such as survey design and structured data analysis).
Proven ability to work seamlessly under the guidance of a strategic Lead while maintaining the operational independence required to execute complex research tasks end-to-end.
Hands-on experience researching human-AI interaction, natural language processing (NLP) interfaces, or multi-modal generative technology.
Experience conducting field research across diverse APAC markets, demonstrating a deep sensitivity to linguistic nuances and cultural variations in technology and AI adoption.
Exceptional verbal and written English communication and presentation skills.
Please note: due to the high volume of applications, only successful candidates will be contacted with a follow-up introduction email.
If you do not receive an email from Maker Lab, your application has been unsuccessful this time around.
Look out for future roles!
